“When our brother died, suddenly but not unexpectedly, we searched for a reputable company. That’s where Tony Hicks and his team from Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home came into our lives. They were responsible for the funeral of our other brother as well. They were a true blessing during a sad time!

Tony helped us connect with their sister funeral home, where we were able to access an affordable cremation option, because funds were limited. To our great relief and gratitude, the price that was quoted to us was the final price and was not inflated nor had any hidden costs.

We have had peace of mind when everything felt overwhelming! We were provided with flawless guidance, deep empathy and amazing, compassionate care from them from start to finish!! This was coupled with the knowledge that our loved one will have a dignified, cost-effective funeral! Thanks to Tony and company for making this very hard time easier to navigate!”

“We had to deal with a sudden loss of a family member. Barbara was empathetic and informative right form the first phone call. You could tell she genuinely cared and went through the entire process with us making sure we understood everything. Unlike most places where they try and sell sell sell, she catered to our wants and needs putting the client first.”

““Killed by Electric Car.”
The 1904 gravestone of 10-year-old Eddie Lukov is an uncanny reminder of the resettlement of Vancouver in the early age of industrialized progress. Potentially killed along the emerging electric streetcar corridor running on the old Indigenous trail and early Westminster/Kingsway route — before Fraser Street (North Arm Road) fully emerged as major commercial residential corridor. Stories like these echoes a city shaped by engineers like Tesla, Edison, and repopulated by migrants from places like Yiddish-Polish-Austrian Galicia into an emerging grand villages worlds away: to the original Granville core then South and out around Vancouver”

“Alex Chau did a phenomenal job in coordinating the funeral service for my father. He walked us through the process step by step, had thorough knowledge of Chinese customs, and gave us advice on where we could get items.

He was very accommodating to our requests such as looking for good dates for us, coordinating the transport of the flowers to the cemetery after the crematorium, helping us test the slideshow on their AV system. “Herb at Raincoast was great to work. He was the only supplier of three I contacted that said he could sandblast the design I submitted. The finished product was an exact replica of my layout. Moreover, the turnaround was quick and pricing extremely competitive. I would highly recommend anyone looking to have a marker made up to contact Raincoast Memorials.”
