The 1904 gravestone of 10-year-old Eddie Lukov is an uncanny reminder of the resettlement of Vancouver in the early age of industrialized progress. Potentially killed along the emerging electric streetcar corridor running on the old Indigenous trail and early Westminster/Kingsway route — before Fraser Street (North Arm Road) fully emerged as major commercial residential corridor. Stories like these echoes a city shaped by engineers like Tesla, Edison, and repopulated by migrants from places like Yiddish-Polish-Austrian Galicia into an emerging grand villages worlds away: to the original Granville core then South and out around Vancouver

My dad died and was buried here in 2015. I remember the staff was incredibly kind and compassionate to all my questions at a very difficult time. I haven’t visited my dad here in a long long time. I hope to come back again as I recall it being very peaceful here of those times when I did visit pre-Covid.
