We scheduled an appointment for maintenance. Given 8-12 window. 1130 get call to advice it will be sometime after 12. How long specifically? They couldn’t say for certain as tech was on ferry. Ferry? Yes from salt spring. I look at the ferry schedules and wonder how on earth the tech was ever going to make the commitment of 8-12.
Tech shows around 130. Super great guy Kale. Happy with the maintenance but not the commitment to the booked appointment time. If time were money? Can this company actually expect people to wait from 8am onwards. Well we did and made ourselves busy. Note: we were offered another day during the call and that seemed like a complete waste of another morning. Someone should learn how to schedule

Black Jack Sweeps & Services was great to deal with. They were friendly, on time, easy to book with, and the payment process was simple, and I was able to pay by card right after the service was completed. They came with a crew of two, worked quickly but efficiently, and were knowledgeable & friendly when I asked questions. They also provided helpful advice and recommendations. They do seem busy, so I’d recommend booking ahead rather than waiting too long.
The tech’s were very professional and the work was high quality. Our water system works much better now and we appreciate their timely scheduling and completion of the work.

Honestly, every month someone new asks me who my hairdresser is! Krystal has been cutting/coloring/styling my hair for 8 years... I've never had a bad cut. She's come up with a red hair colour that stays so natural that people think it's my natural colour!! Kudos hugely to Krystal and her Razors Edge salon!!

Every time my friends and I drive through Duncan we wonder why we’re not all getting our hair cut at Trans hair design. We’re often just passing through the town but that is no excuse to not stop at Tran’s. This crown jewel of Duncan stands out amongst its 300+ shops and experiences! I am very pleased with the way Talia cut my hair. She was professional, courteous, and polite. I was worried about going from a very long hairstyle to a pretty short cut, and it turns out I was nervous for nothing. She did an amazing job and I've gotten so many compliments on it! I love it! 🩷

Hicks Barber Shop is great! We love that they have so many toys for our young kids to play with before getting a cut. They absolutely hate haircuts but Wendy is so patient with them, and even puts on their favourite show. Highly recommend.
Came in recently for a haircut as I’m in town for a bit. Great owner (Ian). He was willing to help out given the crunch. His service levels are impressive. He definitely cares about his clients.
Definitely worth the trip if you need a cut. And he clearly cares about his work.
The atmosphere is unique for a barber shop, which I quite like. It’s not your typical run of the mill place.
They have some little snacks and beverages for sale for clients which is nice.
The only down side is they are by appointment only. But worth planning a trip for.
Tropical Heat Tanning is always spotless and welcoming! The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the beds are clean and well-maintained. Great atmosphere and consistent results every time — definitely the best tanning spot in Duncan!
A year ago I decided to try tanning at Bloom, after an often unfriendly year of tanning at another tanning salon in Duncan, and I'm so happy I did! The ladies are always friendly, engaging, and kind. The service has been unmatched, and their monthly specials are always a fantastic deal. I highly recommend checking them out!
The Mint is so great and welcoming. I’ve been seeing Helene and she is beyond fantastic. She listens to my needs and advises me on how to best achieve it while respecting my social battery. I’ve just come from my 3rd visit and without a doubt I’ll be going back for all future needs.

I have not used recently bit I used FFN for years I found them always friendly and professional. My nails lasted a and should one fall off they were always obliging and fit me in for a replacement usually nc, dependingon reason. I would recommend FFN in a heartbeat.
I went in to get a shorter cut and colour correction and I received the short cut tailored to me and the light blonde I wanted ? it was affordable too.

Griffiths could not have been better. Called on Friday morning about a leaking hot water tank. Spoke to Damon, who said he would call round after a meeting. An hour later he was here to check it out. We needed a new one. At 5:00 pm Damon had installed a new hot water tank and an expansion expansion tank, which is a new municipal requirement. Everything was perfect.

Our upholstery desperately needed a refresh after a cross-country move, and our brand-new patio couch had somehow ended up with mystery stains that no one would admit to creating. I had already tried everything I could think of to remove them with no success, but Scott worked his magic.
He also cleaned our carpets, and the results were incredible. I believe he extracted an entire dog from the carpets!
Scott was punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly efficient. We followed his guidance about waiting before putting the furniture back, and everything turned out perfectly.

Shawn at Cowichan Valley Pest Control was outstanding right from the initial communication to the work that needed to be done. He responded so quickly to my emails and I was so appreciative that he fit me into his schedule right away! I appreciated his knowledge, professionalism and advice. He clearly communicated what needed to be done to complete the job and it was done right away. He also helped my neighbour who was experiencing the same problems. I had finally had enough of wasps and looked around and found a large nest under my front deck. I called Island Pest Control. The call was answered immediately. The time and date were set and the fellow came when promised (even though my finger had slipped to wrong house number when texting, he had to ask a neighbour where I lived) he removed nest and took time to show me a new worm type bug he has now found only three times. I was amazed at his kindness standing there in the heat sweating in his suit. Thank you so much! Great good old fashioned service!
I called to have them come out to remove what I thought was hornets. James arrived and told us they were honey bees. He then told us who to contact to have them removed.
