“We just moved to the Scottsdale area from Illinois and I knew I needed a new local vet for general checkups for my dog, but my dog was also having some GI issues and constant soft stools for (probably) months before us moving here which in turn just got worse due to the stress from the move.I had taken my pup to our vet back home before moving here in which I was basically told to just try out different brands/flavors of food and do the "elimination method" to find the cause, and the general fecal sample test in which nothing ever came about - I felt like I was brushed off.I decided to give Scottsdale Animal Healthcare a shot based off of the great Yelp reviews I saw online, and literally from the moment that the receptionist picked up the phone when I called I knew I chose the right place to try. I believe I spoke to Kylie the receptionist who was extremely nice and I felt like she actually cared about my dog when I was explaining my pups situation to her, and I even got a same day appointment that evening.Upon arriving to their facility every single staff was so warm and welcoming, coming out to say hi to my pup and giving her lots of praise/treats. We had nurse Bailee and Dr. Rice, both of whom were AMAZING, and they listened to every single word I said/background of my dog before explaining our options for testing. They both got down to my pup's level and sat down on the floor with her to make her more comfortable as she was a little stressed from the new environment, and they both couldn't have been more friendly and patient with my girl. We received a printed out quote/cost breakdown of the cost that everything would be that they recommended for my pup before asking us for a decision which was great, and we received our results very quickly a few days after our appointment with a thorough breakdown email from Dr. Rice.I would 100% recommend trusting Dr. Rice and the team here with the care of your animals, and will absolutely be a returning client without even attempting to try anywhere else! Thank you to the whole team for making our first visit a great one!“

My dog was in very bad shape with a broken jaw and they were very calming and supportive on the phone and once in the office that everything would be fixable and fine. This was a traumatic situation for my dog and self. I felt like I was in the best hands and confident of their expertise. I am so grateful to have found them and will never go anywhere else for my dogs dental needs. I learned that it’s important to go to a specialist for cleanings and extractions. “After a quick downfall from an autoimmune response to PetArmor Plus flea and tick topical treatment, and 2 different ERs over 3 days, VCA Neurology department took Walter into the ICU and gave him the best treatment, and was able to get a diagnosis quick, although very serious and fatal if not treated, Dr Melan made it a point to call me with results in between her appointments and treat Walter asap. She did a great job at explaining what was happening and treatment. Her assistant Mike, is also awesome and I could tell he truly cares about the animals he takes care of, which is always comforting. I called probably 15 times over 3 days he was in the hospital, and they always provided me updates and even sent me photos of him in the hospital! If you are looking for a speciality vet, this is the place.“
