“I am so glad I contacted Foothills Canine Academy! I adopted a three year old rescue and she came with an odd assortment of fears. I worked with her for a few months and determined I needed help. Brenda was no longer doing in home training but recommended another trainer from her facility, Aly. I’m so glad she did!!! It’s not always easy to invite a stranger into your home but I felt immediately comfortable with Aly and even better so did my dog! Aly is a great listener with a kind and calm demeanor. “Our 2 pitties did a 4 week board & train with Jose and they came back with new skills, and they’re way more eager to please. We now attend his Saturday classes almost every weekend for socialization and the dogs are always so excited to see him; he treats them like they’re his own. Jose has created an awesome dog community in Scottsdale and he is a great trainer & friend to both the dogs and their owners. We would recommend him to anyone that asked.“

I like this because she is able to assess your dog and meet your needs in the dogs own environment. Lucy (my dog)loved the training! We have done dog training programs before, but for our new cavapoo puppy, we wanted to do something more personal. And I couldn't be happier with the results. Her in-home visits are packed full of great learning, for me and our puppy Teddy. Cathy demonstrates the skills first and then has us practice them with her in order to build up our confidence so we are comfortable going into each week ready to complete our "homework". Her lessons are never overwhelming. It is all very short, sweet and to the point. It takes practice, but watching her work with the dogs and seeing her get such great results is so motivating. “I went to La Gattara because I love kitties. Food, coffee, and hanging out with 20+ kitties at a time? Sign me up. For those who don't know, all kitties there are up for adoption. Or if you just want to hang out with the kitties and enjoy a latte the staff are super kind and welcoming! What I didn't expect was to find my next best friend. Who is curled up beside me as I type this. I just so happened to bond with a sweet baby girl named Mabel. I spent almost my entire hour there with her and after a week of panicking that someone else would adopt her I reached out. I found out later she had been returned by a previous home and my heart broke, I knew I could give her the home she deserved. Carrie was kind, responsive, and amazing during the adoption process. They send you all of the information needed, all cats are healthy, vaxxed and fixed already. All included. Mabel has been home for over a month, well adjusted, and happy. If you're looking to adopt a new fur baby I strongly recommend La Gattara, what better way to meet a new friend? Just going by and hanging out with the kitties supports them having a safe place to live until they find their forever homes like my Mabel. <3**I would like to mention since I’ve seen a couple reviews mentioning the lack of kitties during their visit — please keep in mind these kitties have a feeding schedule and cats in general sleep A LOT. Many prefer to be alone in a cozy dark space when they rest. Keep in mind the time you choose to go and try to understand cats in general. They are more active in the morning and evening. If you wish to meet more kitties try to plan your visit accordingly. Otherwise, there might be less kitties out or willing to play because it’s just natural kitty nap time. This is just something anyone who is looking to adopt or visit should keep in mind.This establishment does a lot for cats that need loving homes.“

“John was called to help us train our 2 doxies to follow commands and sleep better in their crates. In 3 lessons plus daily practice (15 minutes or so per dog per day), our dogs sleep in their crates without whining or barking and follow basic commands well. He trains you to train the dogs. The next month will be about reinforcing what we have already taught them and then we'll move on to tricks and fun stuff. John's methods are easy, effective, and allow you to branch off and expand their abilities. We got our small children involved and they now love their pooches and playing with them. We highly recommend John and Balanced Pooches!“

“Going to Dogtopia is Ruby's favorite day of the week! She loves the staff, the other pups and the yummy food. All of the theme days are so cute and I love the photos. It's been a great experience for me and Ruby .“

“We adopted a fear-based reactionary dog whose reaction was aggression towards other dogs and people. He also was hyper-fixated on just about everything: bikes, skateboards, birds, people with big hats, plastic bags and leaves blowing. We have some experience with dogs with behavioral issues so we were working with him several times a day and he was making some progress but he was still reacting aggressively if we couldn’t manage distance (and the reality is in a big urban area, you can’t always). We started doing Yoni’s online courses (he’s a friend of my husband), and they have helped tremendously. We had gotten him pretty good on a leash and within 2 weeks of doing the drills, he is almost perfect on a leash. We have also been able to work more specifically on his calmness in the house, so he can be calmer with an encounter. But a big tip from Yoni gave us a 180. Two implementations at the right moment have completely removed his aggressive reactions to other dogs. He has stayed calm when charged by off leash dogs, letting us handle the situation. It’s amazing!We are now working on his people interactions and has already started improving and we know Yoni and his team is there for us if we need any additional help.Can’t recommend him enough. You can tell he loves and understands dogs and working (yes its not magic, its alot of work), with him will get your dog to where you need them to be to have a fullfilling life TOGETHER“

“We took our little boy Enzo there for boarding. We hadn't ever left him for more than a night or 2 - so to say the least we were wrecks... We took him a few times for daycare before we left and he loved it. They were very attentive and he got to play with other dogs and still got his scratches and pets. He wasn't all that excited to leave. We will continue to bring him for daycare so he can see his new doggie and human friends. Enzo boarding experience was just as great as daycare. They continually send pictures and let us know how he was doing but we could see from his face he was having a grand time. We are so relieved to have a place to leave our precious little boy knowing that he is safe, happy and very well taken care of!!! Thank you House of Mutts!!!“

“SuAnn and this school are both nothing short of wonderful. I'm convinced puppy school is more for owners to learn how to be good puppy parents than it is for the puppies, but the dogs learn a lot too during the course. Our double doodle puppy calmed down tremendously over the 6 week course and learned several basic, but very important, commands. We now feel confident taking her out in public knowing that we can control her behavior and enjoy going out with her. SuAnn is a wonderful teacher. It's clear that she loves dogs - and they love her too.“

“We've had several dogs in the past, and various trainers. Nothing ever worked very well, and our dogs were always treat-demanding, poorly behaved, barking in the house, and difficult to walk due to leash-pulling/jumping/barking at other dogs. We had the same problem with our new dog Ollie, our beautiful standard red poodle. After failing several other trainers and various classes, we were referred to Jimi Livshitz of Your Dog Guru. After Jimi trained Ollie at his training facility, he brought Ollie back to us, then Jimi came to our house daily for a number of weeks to train us to be able to not only use all the commands, but to also teach us how to protect Ollie from danger, particularly from poorly controlled dogs. The results of his training are nothing short of a miracle! We are extremely happy! Compared to our pre-Jimi-trained anxious dog who incessantly barked, jumped on guests, ran all over the house, pulled on the leash and so forth (creating lots of misery for us), our post-training Ollie is a happy, loving, self-controlled, obedient dog! Amazingly, all the anxiety and nuisance behaviors are gone! He follows all commands happily, is under control and not distracted, walks off-leash next to our left leg, and plays and lounges with us in the front yard without need for a leash. He follows multiple commands without any problems including properly entering and exiting doors to and from the outside, heel, come, go to kennel, go to cot, place, sit, down, get up on the mailbox or wall, and get in and out of the pool. Ollie is now very happy, loves to play with us, runs on the treadmill unaided for 20 minutes twice a day for additional exercise (which he loves to do and looks forward to) and he does all this readily and without hesitation or needing to repeat commands. The word NO is never required or used now. All he wants is love and praise, and no treats are ever needed. We couldn't be happier. Jimi's training has facilitated an obedient, happy, healthy, and loving partnership for Ollie and us, literally transforming our lives. We feel sorry for all the poorly trained anxious dogs and owners out there. Jimi is a very strong advocate for dogs, and he will not allow punishment, leash neck-yanking, or choke chains to be used. Jimi gets our highest and most enthusiastic recommendation!“

“I was searching for a house sitter for my two poodles and found Don through Arizona Dog Sports, where he's a trainer. I used to take my girls there and while we were not in his classes, we had very positive experiences. .So after a meet and greet, I booked Don to house sit at my condo for three nights. I was very anxious leaving because one of my girls had recently been attacked at a local doggy daycare. But Don was accommodating and caring and put my mind at ease. He sent pics every day and followed all my feeding, walking and medication instructions. By evening, my girls looked happy and tuckered out. Don left my condo perfectly neat and clean and I'm very happy with his service! I will definitely use him again.“
