I came for a 2nd opinion regarding the medication my cat is on, diabetic, and as well, to make sure she has no underlying other issues. It seems she may well have.
But to spend another $700. On a in depth blood panel analysis is too much for my wallet.“

“August 2026 — I have to do an update bc the care just keeps getting better! This week my EXTREMELY FEARFUL REACTIVE rescue dog (whom I love more than life itself) just didn’t seem herself, some sort of general non-specific symptoms. Which for anyone with a dog like this, you know that’s my worst nightmare! Because she absolutely will not tolerate any kind of exams or blood draws or anything. But there it was. Dr Meagan at Westmount listened carefully, made a plan that addressed my dog’s symptoms and her limitations as far as exams, and was able to diagnose a rare life-threatening blood disorder. We started treatment immediately, and she is doing so much better! Once again, the doctor and all the staff have been so patient, kind, and accommodating throughout this complex medical nightmare. I could not be more grateful. These dogs like mine are often met with a hard wall of judgement and shame (I know bc I have encountered it at other clinics) and it means so much to be at a clinic where all types of dogs are considered equally worthy of healthcare. I know my dog is in good hands even is she isn’t friendly or sweet with the staff!

Westmount Animal Clinic is the only clinic I have had that can handle my VERY fearful, reactive dog. They are so patient, kind, and accommodating with her (and me!) that we area actually able to get her vaccinated and take care of other health care issues. That has not been the case at other clinics. The front desk staff is friendly and efficient and the vets are knowledgable and confident. I can not recommend this clinic enough, and it's also one of the few left that is still independent and local!“

Not only is he extremely thorough and conscientious with diagnosing your pet properly and making sure they are sent home with the right medication the first time, he does what no other Veterinarian I have seen do in over 30 years of owing pets!! He actually books a follow up appointment the following week to double check and make sure your pet is on the right track as far as healing & responding properly to their medication!! I highly recommend him and won't bring my Diablo to anyone else!!“

“I have been to various veterinary clinics across the city over my lifetime. When it came time that I needed a Service Dog, I was so nervous. I knew that I needed to find the right veterinarian to stand by my dog and help me make sure that he or she was safe healthy and happy. Well, it took a few calls, but I found Dr. Kyle. He’s been a godsend for me. Patient when I’ve been neurotic and worried about nothing, never taking advantage of my worry, not afraid to give it to me straight, and always putting my girl’s best interests and health before anything else. He’s given me tips for training, praise for the little wins he’s noticed, and been a steadfast supporter. I’ve gone toe to toe with Dr. Wendy, and honestly, she was right about what she said, and I was not able or ready to hear her. So while I prefer to work with Dr. Kyle, I have absolutely no concerns now, many years later, of working with Dr. Wendy. The rest of the staff is just as kind. In fact, it’s something to see the clinic work, because if you pay attention, the staff at the front keep the clinic running as much as the Veterinarians do. This clinic will remain the clinic for this Service Team, no matter where we live in the city. I’m so thankful for having stumbled across this clinic back when my girl was just a pup. I bet we wouldn’t still be working if it wasn’t for this Clinic. Thank you for everything that you do!“

“My cat has diabetes, I had been seeing another vet for him and his condition. I was not feeling confident about the support my cat was getting and for his and my benefit I decided to get a second opinion. I’m glad I did. I’m feeling more confident for my cat again, Dr. Mahsa, seems to recognize what may be needed and possible options to ensure my boy is getting what he needs to maintain his diabetes and to stay with me given his health and it’s limitations with diabetes. He’s only 12 and I don’t want to lose him, before I was feeling I might. Now I feel hopeful again.
I have now taken one of my other cats to Centre Street. She's very old, 19 this year. I worry as she ages that she still has a quality of life and that I keep her as healthy as possible. Planning and helping was given to do so. It was reassuring for me again, the attentiveness from Dr. Mahsa but also the other doctor who called the next day after the tests, to give me the information. My cats are well taken care of now, and has made a difference.“

I'd like to extend a HUGE shout out to Elana for initiating an appeal on our behalf when Trupanion refused to cover Periodontal disease x-rays and cleaning, an extraction for our dog, Biscuit. They said that we didn't do it within 3 months of our vet's recommendation. Elana went the extra mile and went to bat for us without us even asking her to! “I am incredibly grateful to the entire team for their quick response and willingness to help my pet mouse, Mohawk.

It can be extremely difficult to find a veterinary clinic that is able to provide same-day emergency care for exotic pets and small rodents such as mice, but this team was there for us when we needed them most. They first helped us with Mohawk’s treatment, explaining everything clearly and making sure I understood her condition and the options available.

Unfortunately, her condition suddenly deteriorated. When it became clear that there was nothing more that could be done for her, they helped me through the heartbreaking decision to let her go peacefully. I felt supported and understood during an incredibly difficult moment.

What meant the most to me was how seriously they treated Mohawk despite how tiny she was. Even the smallest animal is still a beloved pet. They bring us happiness, companionship, and become part of our lives. They deserve the same care and dignity as any other animal, both during treatment and when it is time to say goodbye. This clinic genuinely understands that and made me feel that Mohawk’s life mattered just as much as any other pet’s.

“Royal Oak Animal Hospital has been my go-to for yearly check-ups for my cat, Goober. This year, she required dental work which thoroughly explained and I was given a fair estimate with a price break down. The staff are all very kind and truly care - I felt Goober was in safe and competent hands. Dr Miller went above and beyond by writing a letter to my pet insurance to try and assist in getting the treatment covered, and the front end team helped to figure out a payment plan for me in case coverage was denied. Goober is doing great post-surgery and I highly recommend Dr Miller and her team!“
