My body had been loyal to me and at 69 | felt 40. While lifting a large heavy garden planter I fell backwards on a gravel path with cement stepping stones. My ankle caught on another pot and lodged against a storage chest. Twenty five years ago I had broken the same ankle and it required
surgery to heal. The first week I felt as if my body had failed me but really had no pain by staying off my leg, keeping it elevated. Once I stood with weight on it a week later it was obvious my ankle was injured. Being unable to ride in a car to Seattle because of new hip pain the search for a new General Physician began. The journey to find a new health care provider is too long and winding to
describe here. In the year I was looking I had gone through two PT programs, seen two specialist along with the doctor who assigned me an ankle boot. None of this worked and my pain was getting worse
throughout the year with swelling from my ankle to my hip.
I was now in such bad shape I went to a chiropractor which I had told myself I would never do. They did nothing to ease my pain and often I felt worse. The second one tried to use his training
but any relief was only for a day. My saving grace was only because after hundreds of searches on the internet I added the word pain along with PT in what would be my last search. I had found Dr Orit and Pain Science Physical
Therapy in Burien. By this time I felt 80 years old, could hardly walk, shower or eat. She taught me how the body was
fighting back since my fall and how I could tame and train my physical and mental distress.
Dr Orit has incredible knowledge of the human body and the art of listening and hearing you.
She uses these traits to solve the puzzle of why your body is in so much pain. Without finding Dr Orit my last stages of life would not include walking 2 miles 5 times a week with our new puppy or working with my husband in our garden. We now cherish each hour of
everyday. Today I feel 50ish and I will take that as in December I will be 70 years old.
Dr Orit's PT practice has brought back physical activity and peace of mind. Everyone in her practice was kind and empathetic which is wonderful as a lot of her patients are
younger and quicker than I at checking in and filling in forms. Thank you Dr. Orit, so grateful for your guidance and effort in putting the pieces of my broken self
back together and thank Murphy for me.
