601 S Grady Way Ste H, Renton“I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional instruction provided by Professor Felipe to both of my sons at their private lessons. Because of our travel, we’ve had the opportunity to be exposed to different teaching styles from different professors, and I can confidently state that our time with Professor Felipe has been the most impactful on our boys.
Professor Felipe's extensive skillset and deep background in Jiu Jitsu are truly remarkable. He possesses a unique ability to effectively impart his knowledge, and both of my son’s Jiu Jitsu proficiency has demonstrably improved under his guidance. We have observed a significant advancement in their techniques and understanding of the art, which we attribute directly to his superior instruction.
My boys look forward to their lessons, and we are grateful for the positive experience they’ve had with Professor Felipe.“

8256 S 192nd St, Kent“I’ve been training Brazilian jiu-jitsu for 15+ years and competed at the national level on behalf of other gyms in both California and Colorado. As an experienced woman and former competitor, it can be tough to find safe training environments with similarly safe training partners and coaches, so please understand when I say that this is one of the only gyms in the entire state of Washington where I have always felt safe and comfortable training.
James and his incredible wife, Amy, run a tight ship and have arguably produced more black belts in the state than anyone else around (Marcelo might be close in terms of raw numbers?). It helps that James has multiple world titles and is one of the best humans and black belts I’ve had the joy of meeting and training with. They’ve also started branching into competitive arm wrestling, which is fun to watch when I have the opportunity.
If you’re looking to start your jiu-jitsu journey, I can’t recommend this gym enough. If you’re a visitor interested in doing a drop in, definitely reach out to the owners in advance before just showing up. Yes, this applies even if you have your black belt.“
