I had a new two-stage system from somewhere else that never ran right: too hot, too cold, dead in a freeze, pipes upstairs frozen - all with a newborn in the house. The other (less than honest) company blamed my return duct, then low refrigerant, then overcharge of refrigerant, and left me with a less than working system every time. They took my money, but never provided the services promised.
Damon found three things immediately. The coil was leaking. The thermostat was set up for gas, not electric. The unit I had paid to have as two-stage had never been wired for second stage. He explained each item, quoted the work, and fixed it after I said go.
