“Matt from Timely Tech PC Support provided truly outstanding service repairing my friend Emily’s custom Linux-based Plex media server.
The system would not display anything on its monitor, several internal drives were not being recognized, and the Plex server was completely offline. Matt arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problems, and discovered several internal drive cables that had become disconnected, along with a damaged cable serving the drive array. He replaced the damaged cable, properly reconnected the drives, restored the monitor display, and got the entire Plex system back up and running.
Matt was extremely knowledgeable about Linux, Plex servers, networking, computer hardware, and large multi-drive storage systems. He carefully explained his findings and recommendations in a way that I could understand. He also determined that the Verizon router did not require the extensive additional work that had previously been suggested.
I especially appreciated Matt’s honesty. He did not attempt to upsell me or recommend unnecessary equipment. He clearly explained what the system actually needed, what could wait, and what would help protect it in the future—including professional internal cleaning and a UPS battery-backup system.
