“Our dog is very vet reactive and our behaviorist recommended that we move to this practice a few years ago. What a fantastic recommendation that's been, because this place is incredible.

Everything at this practice is set up with the animals' comfort in mind. There's no waiting room, and only one pet is allowed in the lobby at a time. Treatments are done in the room with you whenever possible, and the rooms themselves are stocked with treats, toys, and soft bedding.

Vet offices usually see the worst of our older dog, but everyone at this practice has been incredibly kind, patient, and creative when treating him, and they are always happy to see us.

The doctors are wonderful of course, but I especially want to highlight the nurses and front desk staff. Every nurse we've worked with has been willing to work with my wacky distraction ideas during injections, done gymnastics to give vaccines to a thrashing dog, and been thoughtful and practical about which vitals are realistic to do. During exams, they're always ready with treats and pets to help anxious pets feel a little calmer.

And the admin team are so on the ball - they have detailed notes on your animal's specific needs, and I have never needed to remind them that we need a sedated exam or extra time for shots. They're pros at scheduling, and quick to put in prescription renewals. And they let us keep a card on file to minimize time in the office. This is probably the only front desk I _enjoy_ calling.

“My dog loves the staff here more than he loves me lol. He comes by to say hi almost every day on his walks. He had some hip issues and major anxiety when we first moved to the area and after following the guidance of the staff he’s like a puppy again at 4 years old. Increased energy, no longer limping after jumping/running or long walks, not nearly as anxious. “My 12 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd was having issues with arthritis in her hind legs. Following an exam of the entire dog and discussion with me, Hunter Mill’s doctor gave my shepherd an injection of Librela that seems to have given my dog new life and energy. Her arthritis issues are greatly reduced. We highly recommend this veterinary clinic and Librela. My 12 1/2 year old dog can now play and enjoy life better than last week prior to the injection. I’m told that the positive effects should last for about 30 days. We will be back next month for another injection.“

“I have enjoyed this animal hospital for my black lab. I transferred from Vienna, which I also liked, but happen to like Reston more as pricing seems more fair. I also was able to experience their honesty when having to have teeth pulled. My dog has stayed with them in their kennel and it was a great experience. My only complaint is they don’t do weekends anymore.“
