“When I started seeing signs of termite infestation in my home in Harrisonburg, I called each of the pest-control establishments that serve the area. I have two small children, an appreciation of the disruptive effects of persistent chemicals on child development, and my PhD included a minor in entomology. With the exception of Duke Compton at Enviro-Tech Pest Services, each company I spoke to trivialized my health and environmental concerns (we live on a hill that is permeated by a spring that feeds Black's Run), and they recommended solutions that involved insecticides in the home and insecticide-filled trenches dug around the home. One rep said disingenuously that the chemical he recommended is safe because it's made by "Bayer, the makers of children's aspirin". (Dubious choice of argument, since Bayer was also the maker of the gas used in Auschwitz.)Duke, on the other hand, listened carefully to my concerns, put a lot of effort into investigating the source of the infestation, and came up with a plan that used a borate product in the home, and a contained bait outside the home. He was persistent and successful.(Also, Cathy, the office administrator, was always professional, kind, and competent, and so a pleasure to deal with.)”

“My experience from my initial phone call to the technician coming out was outstanding. If I could give 10 stars I would. This company really put my needs and feeling first. I'm a nervous person and found cockroaches in my apartment I was freaking myself out. Donna was my first point on contact she quoted me and allowed me to speak with my landlord and call back. When I called back she was on another call and another lady helped me I forget her name but she was fabulous she searched and searched for a quick appointment for me and found one. Faye called me later that day and found me an even sooner appointment same day in fact. I know that's no always possible but they made it happen for me. Then the tech Lawrence arrived he was super informative and professional walked me through everything assured me that the problem was not as bad as I was making it out to be and took his time spraying and baiting my apartment. He checked all my cabinets, closets, under sinks, and cracks. He asked a lot of questions and really put my mind at ease. Not even an hour after he left I found a dead one in my bathroom and haven't seen one since. I can finally sleep again and I'm not kicking things when I walk into rooms to see if any run out.
