“The frames and staff here were amazing! While I did not get an optical exam done here so I can't comment on that experience, the purchasing experience was great. They helped me order a specific pair of glasses I was looking for online and helped me find some comparable frames to help me visualize what it looked like. While they don't except insurance here, which allows them to have the frame selection they currently carry, I found their prices to be very reasonable and similar to prices from another optical shop if you were purchasing glasses without insurance. Highly recommend going here if you are looking for more unique glasses, great customer service and are tired of the usual conglomerate optical shops.“

“I have been using Brooks optical since they day they opened and have referred many people to them. The customer service is beyond compare. They are the only place I know of that can actually repair (or rebuild if needed) your glasses. I continue to highly recommend them.“

“Update after 12/28 appt Dr. Patel is personable, very knowledgeable and attentive. She discussed the results of my tests in detail and patiently answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. Such wonderful care is a rarity these days!! My technician was also patient and kind. Additionally, Serena and Sarah at the front helped me understand my insurance benefits and pick out glasses, all while staying in budget. This is by far the best eye care practice I've been to. WOW! I spoke with Nicole to schedule my first appt with this practice, and she provided some of the best customer service I've had in a while!! “BJ's Optical is a great place to get your prescription lens. I have some frames that are not acceptable at Costco like Oakley Sunglasses and Semi Rim. They have done several Lens for mesuch as Reader, Computer, Distance and Transition. All have turned out great and are sharp with nice AR Coatings. They are a real value and easy to work with. Derrickus Witcher at Starling Drive Richmond, VA is the Manager and L.D.O. also.“

“In that store that AC its running one full blast a the two times ive been there i had to go to my car to get a jacket and when i ask the lady that work there to see if they can maybe turn on the heater i was told that IT could not be done by mánagers instruction ,i even ask one of the workers of she was ok because lips were purple she Said that she was just cold. To me this not look like rigth conditions given how the cold its been his past week“

“I have been seeing Dr. McGarry for a long time all the way back to when his practice was on Forest Avenue. He is a great Doctor and has great bedside manners. He always delivers great service and he is super kind. He even asks questions about how my family is doing. In addition, his staff is friendly, approachable, and helpful. The office staff is easy to get in touch with over the phone, which is a huge plus, and something I don't see as often in other Doctors' office. I give my highest review.“

“I really recommend Midlothian Optometric Center; they don't waste your time and answer all questions. They accept Anthem HealthKeepers Plus but are not the best deal if you're trying to pay out of pocket (OOP). This can be different if your insurance is more flexible with what they'll cover.Exam: Took about 45 minutes, probably because I ask a lot of questions. Dr. Alsop is very thorough and makes sure to answer all questions and explains them well enough for anyone to understand.Eyeglasses: The in-house optician is really high energy and very sales-oriented. Not sure if they still have the same optician. Frame selection was primarily from that one big eyewear company, and the prices were standard for the industry. They do offer eyewear that is covered completely by Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, but they're going to use standard plastic lenses. Not the office's fault, just what my insurance covered. Take good care of them if you go with standard plastic for adults; they can scratch easily.Summary: The doctor is excellent, and they have a selection of nice frames to choose from if you can afford them or have more flexible options with your individual insurance plan. I personally just browsed the frames, took pictures of the one I wanted, ordered it online, and had the lenses created at Walmart Vision. While not covered by my insurance, it still got me the frames I wanted with lenses I knew would hold up to my life without scratching. Midlothian Optometric can make the same thing, maybe even better, but it just boiled down to the difference in cost for me.“

“I had a long wait as they were apparently understaffed, and then the Optometrist was on lunch. Two issues I was ok with, because everyone deserves a lunch and the lone optician was patient, explained all aspects of the pre exam testing, and kept me updated on the delays. The Optometrist was knowledgeable and honest with his answers on what would suit me best. He had some otc suggestions without trying to sell me in house supplements or drops like some places. Talking to you, Pearl Vision. It was a virtual eye exam, but I didn't feel like I wasn't getting good eye health care.“

“Both the eye doctor and the owner were really lovely. They charged me $25 for an eyeglass measurement, which was an unnecessary charge given that I was re-ordering my existing glasses online as I explained. I didn’t care for that, but they were otherwise both really kind.“

“I found Dr.Shows by accident. I have now been using him strictly for about four years, and he is a great doctor. Explains everything he's doing and why its important if you ask questions. If you prefer small offices with a more personal experience i would highly recommend! He and his office are very kind, and caring towards their patients.“

“Dr. Chiapetta is the very best! Susan, his nurse is amazing! She will answer calls especially if you have an eye emergency. His staff that walks you back to take your information before the Dr comes in is also so nice! I have been out of the area but can not wait to see Dr. Chiapetta again. He is gentle and very calming, I am a hypa person so he calms me down quickly. The front desk staff has to step up their game, but we all can improve.
