This is a long story.
Winter of 2007, I was 9 years old. My mom was in prison in Gatesville at the time. My aunt and my grandmother were driving back to Longview, Texas that evening, fairly late, but we weren't going to stay down there.
We pull up to a light in Waco, and our car breaks down. Engine isn't turning over, no lights, not a thing. Naturally, when the adults are panicking, I start to panic. I'm hours from home, it's the middle of the night, and I don't know what's going on, so I started bawling my eyes out. Called last minute for an appointment for my grandson visiting from out of town. The women who answered the phone was extremely nice and found us an appointment. She did an awesome job!! Thank you, Braids and Fades..we will be back.
JB did my hair and all 5 of my wedding party. She is extremely fast and creative. I got a TON of compliments about the unique way she incorporated braids around a head band of flowers. Someone said it reminded her of basket weaving. It was there in a way that also held the heavy weight of the flowers in place- brilliant. Even from a normally quiet new husband, he just loved it. The other ladies each got something creatively unique. In addition to talented, JB has a personality that lights up a room. We needed it as we didn’t all know each other well.
