“I’m sharing my story as this may help someone else struggling:
I’ll try to keep it short…..

Several weeks ago I began experiencing severe pain through my left leg, so much so that I was unable to walk more than half a block.
I happened to come across a magazine article about a woman, 15 years younger than me with even more severe symptoms putting her in wheelchair.
She lived in Florida & no doctor there was able to help her with her pain.
She found Dr. Echo here at Houston Methodist. With just a few questions, he diagnosed her over the phone.
Compressed nerves. We usually hear about issues with sciatica, but there are several nerves that can be compromised by a muscle or facia pressing incorrectly.
What causes this…..
Well for me it was standing in heels for over 8 hours teaching.
That is one cause, but there are others.
The woman in the article had 2 surgeries, first on one nerve, sorry I don’t remember the name, and then the sciatic. Thankful to say Dr. Echo was able to relieve her pain & she is once again able to walk.

What did I do? Well I knew Dr. Echo was an option, but first I made an appointment with my good friend Anne-Marie Ozaki
A&M is a certified medical massage therapist.
She understood my symptoms, with her hands she could feel the stress points and (with much discomfort?) was able to relieve the pressure on the comprised nerves.
After my first visit, I was feeling less pain.
After 3 visits I’m back to walking 2 miles 4 times a week. And bonus….. walked 4-5 miles for 5 days in a row with my family in Vegas!
I’m grateful to Anne-Marie and her expertise! She corrected my issues, eliminated my pain and prevented possible surgery.
