I think I ended up asking for something more along the lines of Swedish massage even though I booked us for a deep tissue couples massage. My therapist (Joy) was really responsive during the massage to my requests to increase or decrease pressure depending on what each area of my body could tolerate. “Great experience for my first ever massage! Booking was extremely easy. I scheduled an appointment because I have been dealing with neck and shoulder pain, as well as nerve pain/entrapment. Allysia took the time to ask questions to really understand the source of my pain and said she’d do her best to help me, even though she wasn’t sure what effect she could have if it was a nerve issue.

The entire massage was awesome. She even took a little time to work on my knees and hips because I had mentioned in my consultation that those were problem areas for me as well. She communicated everything she was doing as she went along and I really appreciated it. She is very nice and a good conversationalist, which helped me be even more comfortable. When the massage was over, she gave me homework to start doing targeted stretches and mobility exercises to see if that could help me further.
