We’re originally from the Portland, Oregon area, and back in July 2024, we began our search for a new place to call home — somewhere with warmer weather, a slower pace of life, and a community where we could truly belong. Meeting the Dream Team Our realtor, Heather Hamilton from Coldwell Banker Las Cruces, introduced us to Homar Navarrete and his amazing team at Am.On Roofing & Remodeling. We also had the pleasure of meeting Deyra Loya, Tanya Ocampo, and later Aurora Nunez. Homar walked us through several of his finished builds, and every single one was modern, elegant, and beautifully crafted. While we were impressed by each home, we realized we wanted something uniquely ours — a custom home that reflected our style, our needs, and our vision. Homar made that possible! The Journey to Our Custom Home We began working closely with Homar, his incredible team, and our realtor Heather to bring our dream to life. We never imagined we’d be able to build a custom home, but Homar gave us the confidence and guidance to make it happen. The process wasn’t always easy — there were moments of impatience and bumps along the way — but Homar’s professionalism, Aurora’s constant communication, and the entire team’s dedication made all the difference. Even though we were 1,600 miles away in Oregon, we always felt connected and informed. From choosing colors and layouts to selecting lighting and finishes, every detail was thoughtfully planned and perfectly executed. A Home Built with Heart In August 2025, our dream became a reality when we moved into our custom-built home. Walking through the front door — that oversized, beautiful door we fell in love with on day one — was one of the most unforgettable moments of our lives. Homar’s craftsmanship is exceptional. “We hired Brian and team for 2 jobs. The first was a shower redo to correct a leak in the pan. They took the time to point out why the original shower failed and built it back better. After that we brought them back to do a larger floor re-tile and kitchen renovation. This included repaint of cabinets, a new island, updated living room fireplace and new base boards. His crew did the demo quickly and mitigated dust as we were still living in the back of the house. This cleanup daily was a nice touch and made the whole process much smoother. His team was very detail oriented and showed up on time every day. The subcontractors he used were some of the best I’ve seen and addressed any issues on the spot. He had us back in our kitchen in time for Thanksgiving and our family was impressed with the work. I highly recommend Brian and will be using him again in the future.“

“No doubt the best roofer in town. Javier says what he means and means what his says, not to be dramatic. We recommend the USA General team without reservation. Searching for trusted, quality craftsman, including a quality roofer, was an exhausting, daunting and frustrating task; we almost gave up in despair. The home we purchased this past year was re-roofed as part of the owner transition. That unfortunately went VERY poorly for a host of reasons and left some less than ideal conditions on the roof, decking and facia of our new home; we just didn’t appreciate how “less than ideal”. We contracted with USA General Contractors for some needed facia work and installation of gutters after he was providentially recommended to us. Javier returned our text outreach with a same day call. The next day he and his Senior craftsman walked the ground, discussed the details of the desired work and we received an unambiguous, written, fully itemized proposal and cost. We knew there was a chance for surprises during the job and that was understood. Javier and his onsite Craftsman led by Enrique and Enrique’s son and their team, kept their word on job timing, updates, cost, and when issues we knew would arise, did, a same day well thought out documented fully disclosed and itemized updated proposal was coordinated. That led to a HIGH quality end state and long term protection for our home. The results were absolutely amazing. Our homes curb appeal has markedly improved in addition to restoration of problems neglected and hidden by the previous roofer nine months ago. We are going to ask Javier’s team to prep and paint our home in the near future, having seen the superb craftsmanship of Enrique and team first hand.“

We are very pleased with the attentiveness, and responsiveness we’ve received from Ashley at Pointe Homes. No home is perfect and we’ve experienced minor issues with ours in the short six months since we’ve owned our home. and her crew with Rising Phoenix Installations. Based here
in El Paso, Amy’s company repaired the exterior stucco of
our house and painted the entire exterior. Omar was in
charge of repairs of the flat roofs and installation of a new
material on the roofs and parapets.

Amy and Omar and their crews were consistently very
punctual, always showing up when Amy said they would.
In addition, all the workers were friendly, respectful and
always behaved professionally. They put in long hours,
arriving around 7:00 AM and working until past 4:00, and
sometimes even later. Amy had estimated that it would
take about 6 weeks to do all the work, but there were so
many men on the crews and they worked so efficiently that
the entire job was completed in two weeks!

Amy and Omar were very attentive and came on site at
least once every day, checking with us, answering all of
our questions, updating us on the status of their work, and
supervising the work as it was progressing. If we had any
questions when they were not physically present, we could
either text or call, and both of them were always very
responsive.

The crews cleaned up their work areas every day. They
hauled away the debris from the roof, and took away any
and all garbage that they generated. Even while the work
was ongoing, we never saw a discarded water bottle or
food wrapper on the ground. When the work was
completed, and all the window and door coverings were
removed, they washed all the windows and power-washed
the sidewalks, so that the entire exterior was clean and
beautiful. Even after their contracted work was complete,
Rising Phoenix had a workman return to make stucco
repairs for some minor damage done by another contractor
we had previously hired to do some other work in the yard.
Before selecting Rising Phoenix we obtained competing
bids and researched the work history of all bidders. While
Rising Phoenix was not the lowest bid we received, our
personal contact with Amy and Omar as well as our
investigation into other home owner experiences with
Rising Phoenix, led us to believe that Amy and Omar
were honest and trustworthy. These qualities were very
important to our decision to accept the Rising Phoenix
bid. We can honestly say that every single aspect of their
work on our home affirmed our initial belief about their
character and qualifications. Amy and Omar are
meticulously honest, trustworthy and reliable. In addition,
as warranted, they used quality products and superior
paint. Moreover, the workmanship of their crews was
outstanding.

In summary, we have no reservation in recommending
