It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am for the incredible team at UT Southwestern Medical Center. A close friend of mine recently underwent surgery for a complex pituitary tumor, and from the moment we arrived, we knew we were in the very best hands. This journey started with some outstanding physicians here in Amarillo who quickly recognized how serious the situation was, got him stabilized, and made sure he was connected with the right people. A neurosurgeon friend personally reached out to Dr. Aaron Plitt and his team at UT Southwestern, and everything moved with incredible speed and precision. From Dr. Plitt, the ENT surgeon, the anesthesiology team, the Neuro ICU nurses, the floor nurses, therapists, technicians, and every member of the staff we encountered, the level of professionalism, compassion, and teamwork was simply extraordinary. What impressed me just as much were the little things. Staff members would stop in the hallway just to ask if I needed help finding my way. After a long day, even the kindness shown by the gift shop staff while I grabbed a much-needed cup of coffee meant more than they probably realize. Those small acts of kindness make a lasting impact. The hospital was spotless, organized, and ran like a well-oiled machine. Every step—from surgery to recovery to discharge—was seamless. Today, my friend is back home in Amarillo recovering well, and we couldn’t be more thankful. To everyone at UT Southwestern Medical Center, thank you for the exceptional care you provided. There is a reason so many physicians I work with in Amarillo speak so highly of your institution. After experiencing it firsthand, I completely understand why. Bravo to every physician, nurse, therapist, technician, volunteer, and staff member. You made one of the most stressful experiences of our lives feel manageable, and for that, we will always be grateful. ❤️

My spouse is battling a very hard diagnosis. His team are amazingly trying to help. He had brain surgery and he seems to be functioning well. Dr. Patel is an amazing, skilled surgeon. The doctors, nurses all seem concerned. Dr. Patel’s sister another neurosurgeon also stopped by and was very compassionate. The facility is very well designed. We come from Odessa for care. He would have not made it this long in Odessa. It’s a shame that all Americans can’t have access to this type of caring environment.
