About Eye Institute of Austin
The Eye Institute of Austin provides exceptional eye care services. Their ophthalmologists are highly knowledgeable and take the time to explain changes in vision and treatment options. Patients appreciate the doctors' expertise in managing conditions such as kerataconus, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts. The staff is helpful and caring, going above and beyond to ensure patients' comfort and satisfaction. The institute's doctors have caught serious issues that other eye care providers missed, and their surgical procedures have yielded impressive results, with patients achieving 20-20 vision and improved reading abilities. One patient, struggling with eyesight issues and realizing they had premature cataracts, experienced successful eye surgery with Dr. Todd Smith, noting it was like walking with lens filters on and that they are now seeing well. Another patient, under the care of Dr. Jason Feuerman, is grateful for the doctor's alertness in recommending a retina specialist and for diagnosing glaucoma in both eyes, with a simple treatment. Patients have received excellent eye care, including cataract surgery, over four decades and are very happy with their optical shop. Overall, the Eye Institute of Austin is highly recommended for its excellent care and service.
I normally see Dr. Feuerman, but had to get in right away and the staff was very kind and helpful and wanted to get me in asap. So...I got an appt. the next day. I have never seen Dr. Ross, but I was happy to see him and he gave me a lot of information and advice concerning my vision. He was very thorough and kind.
I was seen by Dr. Murphy after several years of having Dr. Gary Rylander as my ophthalmologist. I’m very happy to have chosen Dr. Murphy to continue care. She’s very thorough and takes her time to explain conditions and to dispense advice.
Every staff member did their job with courtesy and efficiency. Dr. Smith is the GOAT! I was a life-long myope who needed bilateral cataract surgery in 2016. Dr. Smith put me on a trial of two different contact lenses—-one for near vision and the other for distance, in order to see if I would be a candidate for lens implants that would do the same thing. The answer was yes, and ten years later I still have 20-20 vision in both eyes! Yay!
