About Austin VA Clinic
Austin VA Clinic is a clean facility with helpful staff who treat patients with respect. Many patients report positive experiences with communication, including quick follow-up appointments and direct email with doctors. The clinic offers various services such as primary care, chiropractic care, optometry (vision care), dentistry, oncology, podiatry (foot care), and treatment for traumatic brain injuries (TBI). It is a modern, stand-alone multispecialty center that many veterans find more advanced than other clinics, with little waiting time and a supportive registration area. The clinic has plenty of parking, including numerous designated spots for disabled veterans. In fact, there are over 100 handicap parking spaces available, which many appreciate. It also features a small shop selling veteran items and some food onsite. While the clinic is well-regarded, it does not provide all services; for example, cardiac pacemaker checkups and cataract surgery are available at the Temple location. Although there can be wait times for lab services, most patients find the staff to be friendly and informative. Some staff turnover among primary care physicians has been noted, and there have been concerns about attitudes from a few staff members. Overall, patients appreciate the modern facilities and cleanliness, describing it as a signature veterans healthcare operation that delivers excellent service. Despite some areas for improvement, most patients highly recommend the clinic to veterans in the Austin area.

I don’t understand why is it that I tell them exactly what clinic I need to speak to, and it takes 5 different transfers before I can actually speak to who I need to. Don’t even get me started with calling to the dental clinic. I have never been able to even speak to them, I always spend like 45 minutes trying and never get lucky enough
I recently had an endoscopy done at the Austin VA Clinic, and I cannot speak highly enough of the Gastroenterology department. I also had a colonoscopy done here in 2024. From the moment I walked in, the entire team was incredibly professional, compassionate, and efficient. Medical procedures like these can understandably cause some anxiety, but the nurses and doctors went out of their way to make me feel comfortable, clearly explaining every step of the process. The procedures themselves were seamless and completely painless, and the post-op care was fantastic. It is clear that this team truly cares about veterans and provides top-tier medical care. Thank you to the...read full review
All I have to say is, thank God for people like Kathy who helped my husband with an issue in radiology today. She went the extra mile to help us out and we’re so grateful!
