“A couple of weeks ago, I hired GMC Precision Hardwood to refinish the white oak floors in 2 of my home’s bedrooms. My home is about 60 years old and we had most of the floors refinished over 20 years ago. However, the bedroom floors had never been refinished since they were always covered with wall to wall carpeting. I had already received several bids from other flooring contractors. As part of the job, I wanted the finish of the bedroom floors to match the hall floors. I also needed the heavy furniture moved. Some contractors were not happy about the furniture moving. The owner of GMC, Marshal provided a bid that was in the mid- range. And he had absolutely no issue with moving the furniture out of the rooms and back in again. I found out that Marshal used to work for the contractor, John Pera who refinished my floors decades ago. Anyway, Marshal and his crew, including Peter not only matched the bedroom floors to the rest of the house, they fixed a squeak that had been a nuisance for years, pointed out and fixed damaged wood at a doorway and put padding on bottom of all furniture before moving it back. I had not asked for the padding but it was a very nice touch and keeps the floors protected. (None of the other contractors offered that.) I’ve included some photos so you can see the condition of the floors before and after. If you need your hardwood floors refinished, restained, etc. I highly recommend GMC Precision Hardwood. Marshal and his crew are professional, courteous and easy to work with.“

“I went to Renaissance Ceramic Tile and Marble years ago for our kitchen tile (which we love!) and had a great experience.

I found inspiration photos online for our upcoming bathroom renovations, but knew I wanted to find our final selections at Renaissance. The showroom is very large, I’m just including some photos of my favorite tiles.

I came in with some ideas and was able to organize all of our bathroom tile needs thanks to Noelle and Jeff’s expertise.

I’m so grateful they guided me through options and were so patient with me. I can’t wait to see what everything looks like when it comes together.

“Excellent experience from the initial call, pickup, drop-off and relay, and on-site cleaning. We had 2 large area rugs and a hall runner that were taken to the shop for cleaning since we have refurbished hardwood floors; pickup was uneventful. Upon return the techs were attentive and careful to relay, mindful of our furniture. They cleaned a couch, 2 high back chairs, and another area rug. “We had Allen refinish our existing 1st floor hardwood floors and replace carpet with matching wood in a connected couple rooms. Allen had a reasonable quote and was easy to work with throughout the project. He was responsive and communicative with us in addressing areas that were damaged during the refinishing and walked us through options to deal with having white oak rather than red oak in a couple rooms. “Sean and his helpers did a great job for us. We had 3 upstairs bedrooms, and the landing at the top of the stairs, to floor. We moved some of the smaller items while Sean moved the larger furniture on sliders with no issues. The job price quoted, was the price we paid even though the work became more labor intensive. The Bruce gunstock, prefinished flooring was out of stock and Maxwell Flooring agreed to install, sand and finish multiple coats of stain and sealants. There was no dust and no plastic sheets required to complete this work. Sean went out of his way to provide beautiful floors for us, and we can confidently recommend the company!“

My favorite aspect of this whole project is the beautiful custom built-in corner pantry John constructed around a piece of our countertop material. Our kitchen is so small that any gain in floorspace and storage is huge.

John and Cindy worked with us to create something that would allow for more storage than we had before, felt open and easier to use than the previous enclosed closet-like shelving, and left space for us to set up a dog feeding station beneath the pantry shelving as well. I never would have thought we would be able to have completely customized storage in our modest little kitchen, but it looks gorgeous.

Everything they did, including countertop removal and installation, sink installation, updating and repairs to existing plumbing fixtures, backsplash installation, electrical work (installed a light and outlet), building the pantry, and floor installation (along with putting an exhaust fan in the bathroom, but that wasn't quite as exciting) has been done with care. We've been living with it for a month now and it's still a fantastic dopamine rush every time I walk in there.

I kick everyone out of the kitchen so I can spend as much time in there as possible. I haven't actually wanted to cook for years, now you can't get me out of this room!“
