I had the issue when first trying to find a builder that when you Google "Custom Home builders near me," you get companies that say and are labeled as custom on Google but are not. When I started my journey of looking for a home builder the number one thing I was looking for was to build a unique home that no one else has. Costa made that dream a reality. Upon my first meeting with Tracey and Tony, I knew they were the ones I wanted my home to be built by. They accommodated so much more than I expected from a home builder after talking with many others before them. Everyone else I spoke to always said "No we don't/can't/won’t do that you need to stay close to our blueprints we have" Costa on the other hand said, "Whatever you can think of we can do it."They are always available to answer any questions/concerns you may have at the start of the project and throughout the whole building process. I had never gone a whole day without someone on their team getting back to me about numerous amount of questions I had from start to finish. When building a home there are things I had no idea the purpose of and having the peace of mind to be able to ask the question and get a response in a quick manner was amazing. I heard many times from my friends and family "Building a home must be a nightmare!" or "Aren't you stressed 24/7?" I, however, never once experienced that. “I found AB&KBJB through a recommendation from a high school friend. I definitely hit the jackpot! I could NOT love my phenomenal bathroom more!!!I had a very distinct vision of what I wanted - a forest-inspired bathroom where different woods, metals, surfaces and earthtones were "married" together with green to create a "mismatched but matched" spa-like feel . . . after the 20+ year old beat to heck bathroom installed in 2001 (that leaked for at least 15 year - that awful orange nightmare in the end pics below) was completely gutted and a new subfloor and walls were put in. I am sure that Jason probably thought I was off my rocker, but I kept saying "I know what it will look like in my mind and trust me, it will work". Well, as you can see, the pics speak for themselves!Jason is awesome and down to earth to work with. The quality of the craftsmanship of my bathroom is more than I even imagined. What I really liked is that because I was so particular on what I wanted, I discussed with Jason and I purchased my own materials (tile, fixtures, vanity, toilet, blinds,etc.) so that I got exactly what my "vision" was, down to the handmade in Morocco external plumbing shower fixtures and massive rainfall (14" wide!) showerhead that you just can't find in a big box store and a high profile marble-topped freestanding vanity. I worked with Jason so that I knew what to get when I was unsure and I listened to him when my ideas would not have worked (such as the natural stone basin sink I wanted that I decided against when Jason explained I would have to seal it every year - ugh!)If you can't tell, I asked for a massive amount of tiling and it is flawless, down to the way that the glaze in the tile is vertical vs. horizontal to make it appear much more natural like I wanted. The grout is perfect. Everything ...is ...perfect!Not only the work perfect, but not having a second bathroom, it was made sure I had my toilet at the end of every day of work. Oh, and did I mention my house was spotless after the bathroom was finished with nit a so gle sign my bathroom has been demoed and rebuilt from the subfloor and studs up?Jason has a work ethic and dedication second to none - one that I admire wholeheartedly. I am the one person who can vouch for this more than you can ever imagine, as my beautiful bathroom is extremely bittersweet . . .Josh, Jason's awesome brother (mentioned in other reviews), worked on my bathroom for the demo and first half of the project until tragically, he passed away unexpectedly. This more than understandably delayed my bathroom a little bit, but Jason, along with Chris and Jimmy, made sure the delay was the absolute minimal, even working over the weekend to get it done, through his own personal grief, and still with unbelievable quality and precision. I don't even have words for this level of customer service today because it is non-existent.I have my dream bathroom that I have waited my whole life for, not only visually, but quality-wise . . .and oh yeah, $10k less than other companies that do tile work quoted me - and I wouldn't have been able to get exactly what I wanted!If you want a quality bathroom that is affordable with a company that has an unbelievable work ethic, Jason is the way to go - without a doubt. “It's hard to find someone you can trust, be responsive, and do a good job, but we found this with APJ Home Improvement! They are a rare gem! They don't mess around. The jobs get done quickly! We had recently moved in and there were no closets in our master bedroom. We also had to move the laundry area out of the kitchen. John from APJ did an excellent job installing 'his/her' closets, a linen closet, and a laundry closet in our master bedroom. They look like they have been there forever. They added extra details that I didn’t even consider that enhance the looks and function of the deck. They were neat throughout construction and completed the deck in the timeframe promised. “Wow. Purchased a 3,800sf 112 year old farmhouse. No exterior wall insulation and very little rafter insulation. Bill Merola saved us! Very professional, clean, fairly priced and most importantly it worked! Our first winter without insulation we spent over $3,000 in heating costs, the next winter? Less than $1,300, so ya. I'd say one heck of a great investment. Give them a call, you won't be disappointed! They did a full bathroom renovation - removing all materials down to the studs and rebuilding, including replacing a tub with a walk-in shower.
