When I had the deck painted afterwords there was a small issue but the owner did everything to resolve it as quickly to please all parties involved. “I was in a bind, my house was just about to go on the market in mid- February 2022, after twenty years living there...and a new carpet was just installed for the upcoming showings, but an ice storm late January opened a hole through the roof under the second floor deck.Water damage busted the drywall ceiling in the lower bedroom and opened a huge hole dumping drywall and installation onto the new rug..the insurance company assessed it to be more than just water damage, the whole bedroom structure had mold and residual water damages to all the joist and flooring, which was over a crawl space, from poor drainage due to a haphazard construction job to that extended section of the house added on back in 2007. I got in touch with a contractor who came in at $27,000 for the repairs, but he couldn't start the job until late June, he couldn't get there any sooner than June, much too late for getting my house up for sale, especially in this market. I was crazy and distrusting not knowing who could do, one, a good job, and two, quickly. I was still looking for someone in late February, but everyone was too over my budget, not interested, or couldn't start until mid-summer.A friend of ours said to call Karl of K. J. And WITHIN three weeks the job was completed and the sale sign will now go up in early April !!!This is a family company, the crew is his son and his long time friends and coworkers with years of experience, they worked like a well-oiled machine, and cleaned up every night keeping all their work materials neat and orderly ready for the next day's work, as my friend had said. They showed up everyday, rainy days they did work inside, dry walling, painting, etc., and the good days they busted to get the exterior perfectly matched with the existing main house and installed a state of the art deck that will last for years..they won my confidence...and matched my budget needed for the repairs...win-win all around, AND enhanced my property a hundred fold for the upcoming sale.If you are stressed out right now about finding a contractor, who you want to trust from the start and to get your job done right...you need to call Karl at K.J. “Reed removed a load bearing wall in our kitchen and added beams and support throughout our first floor and basement. He and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and professional in all that they do. They're pricing was very reasonable and they were very responsive. The work was done meticulously. They pay very close attention to detail and the crew was mindful of dust throughout the house... used plastic and dust collectors everywhere. I was extremely impressed with this contractor. Reasonable pricing, quality workmanship, and quick responsiveness is extremely hard to find in todays market. So happy to know one that I can trust. I will definitely use Reed Harris for future projects and would recommend them to anyone needing construction work.“
