“We had 503 roofing replace our 22 year old roof with the CertainTeed Northgate 50 year shingle. Frank, Jose and the entire crew did an amazing job that only took them 2 days to complete from start to finish. Frank was very communicative via text before, during and after the work was done. When 503 replaces a roof they also replace all the vents on the roof to reduce risk of leaks later on. They also warranty their work on the roof for 10 years in addition to the 50 year warranty that comes with the Northgate shingle.

As you can see from the photos, the new roof looks awesome and all of the vents were replaced at the same time. During the demo, they did find a few roof boards that had dry rot and replaced them. The contract includes 2 roof boards and even if there are more the cost to replace is under $100 per board.

While the crew was working on the roof, they also noticed that one of the side moldings to the house had dry rot to it (see the photos attached) and was able to replace that while they were there. This was so impressive since this was not really part of the roof, but they noticed it while they were working, took the damaged wood out, went out to get new moldings and replaced it while they were there all for under $300. That was definitely a lot less expensive than trying to find another contractor to come out to repair it, if we could even find a contractor willing to come out for a smaller job like that.

When the crew was done they did an awesome job of cleaning up everything. Naturally with a job like this there are a lot of nails used and some will fall off the roof. They crew uses a magnetic sweeper to go over the driveway, street, sidewalk, etc. to make sure they get them all picked up so you don't end up with flat tires. I was not able to find any strays in the driveway or street when they were done.

You would think with all of the work I described above that 503 Roofing would be more expensive than some other roofing companies. We did not find this to be the case. We received 3 other bids and two of them were more expensive and the third was almost identical to 503, but only had a 5 year warranty on their workmanship vs 503 Roofing that has a 10 year warranty on their work on top of the 50 year warranty that comes with the CertainTeed Northgate shingle.“
