“My sister passed away on April 30, 2026, from health complications related to her service as an NYPD first responder during 9/11. The very next day, completely distraught and devastated, I met with Ms. Joanne to plan her services.
I laid everything on the table and explained exactly what I wanted for my sister’s homegoing celebration, including white doves, an NYPD salute, and recognition of her service during 9/11. Ms. Joanne and the entire team at Flowers Funeral Home went above and beyond anything my family and I could have imagined.
They provided us with an entire floor, allowed us additional time, and remained present, compassionate, and attentive to our family and guests throughout the entire service. Even the NYPD 9/11 helicopter tribute was incredibly meaningful. The Mass held the following day, right up the block, was equally beautiful.
My sister passed away because of her 9/11-related health issues, but she was sent home like the true hero she was. Everything was more beautiful than I ever expected, and I could not have asked for a more meaningful service.
Ms. Joanne, thank you for treating me and my family like your own. On behalf of my entire family, I sincerely thank you and everyone at Flowers Funeral Home for giving my sister the most beautiful homegoing celebration I have ever witnessed. When my own time comes, I pray that I will be cared for in the same place and with the same compassion, dignity, and love you showed my sister.
