“We are thrilled with the amazing work of Alex and his team!!! As new homeowners, we discovered we had to replace a long stone retaining wall lined with raised garden beds along our property, as it was buckling due to age and improper drainage. After obtaining multiple quotes from different contractors, we chose to go with AK Paving, and we're so happy we did. Not only were they willing to work within our budget to achieve what we needed to do, but they also explained everything, answered all our questions promptly, arrived on time and completed the work within the timeframe they estimated--all while doing an incredible, quality job tearing down and rebuilding the whole wall. Alex's team even went over to our next-door neighbor's house--as his fence is only a half foot away from the retaining wall--to explain their rebuilding plan and reassure him they would not to disturb his plantings on the other side of the fence. Our neighbor was so impressed and thrilled (and they did take great care not to disturb any plantings, he confirmed :) They also removed all the garden bed materials (which were sadly rotten) and stone from the original wall and left everything clean and beautiful. This was our first time doing a major home renovation project, and we were very nervous about it. But we 100% picked the right company to go with in AK Paving. “We had a fantastic experience with this Santiago Martos, which started with his initial visit to discuss the project: a full kitchen and basement remodel, plus some major plumbing work to replace aging black pipe. By that time, we had already gotten three estimates. While he was here, he asked questions that no previous contractor thought of, carefully went over the project parameters, and gave us a verbal estimate. The next day, he emailed a formal estimate, which was the basis of our contract.

When the job commenced, a full crew arrived and worked every day (even some Saturdays) until the job was completed, which took about a month. The crew was fantastic; great camaraderie and everyone had a good skill set. They did terrific work, and cleaned up at the end of each day.

When unexpected things happened---like, for example, when removing walls it was revealed that there was a plumbing line in the way that necessitated extra work---Santiago explained various options to us and went over pricing before proceeding.

All in all, we were astonished at how quickly the project flew by and are very happy with the job done. I highly recommend Martos Development.“

The second project which was recently completed was the demo and reconstruction of my front steps. In both cases Joe and his crew did excellent work.
