Nick and the rest of the band are so talented and friendly. And there's so much going on: music, dancing, "what's in the box", puppets, and bubbles. Such a special class put on by really wonderful people :)“

“I am 80 years old and played trumpet till I was 55, stoped playing partly because I got bell’s palsy. After about a year I got over it but did not play over a hour a year. At 78 a friend who I have known over 45 years asked me to play in a large trumpet group. I said yes and started practicing a month before rehearsals started. I could not play well at all. After about a year still bad. I had a tooth problem and went to my dentist. I had an infection in one tooth and a tooth needed work. $7000 later I started to sound much better. My best friend when we were in 6th grade said he was going to be a professional trumpet player and I said I was going to be a band director. We got to do that for fortyy years. He was one of the top players in LA and when I asked him who his best conductor he said Leonard Bernstein. As I was practicing to get better for the trumpet group he would come three weeks for 5 days and he would show what to practice and work on technique. He had stopped playing and when I started he did go back after twenty years. He now goes to G and A above high C and I doing hi c pretty well.
Then I started watching u tube about 2 years ago and a lot of my time was watching different trumpet players talk about playing. Some are really great about how to play better. When I saw you I thought you were really great. I bought your book twice. You were supper with pdf but i wanted the book so it would last. It is a supper book. Builds endurance and range. Then I saw another video about finger exercises. Start on A and down to C# I think. Thought I saved it but when I tried to find the video it was nowhere. But I practice slurs tonguing. These two things are so so good. Thank you so much

6725 Clyde St, Queens“Francis has been amazing for my 9yo son's growth in musicality. We initially contacted him simply because we live nearby and because another music school (which will remain unnamed) disappointed us. But we quickly learned how much care he puts into his personalized lessons. He's also very communicative and punctual when it comes to scheduling, always a wonderful soft skill to have alongside the actual talent and patience required to help his students. We're so lucky to have met Francis!“

Ann always finds the time to pencil us in her busy schedule when we have deadlines. With Ann’s coaching, my daughter has grown significantly. My daughter’s skills learned at the actor’s garage landed her multiple offers from some of the best agencies in the NY metro area. Ann’s rehearsal prep also landed my daughter a few auditions.“

He woke up early every morning and got ready so he could be the first one there as the doors opened every day. This is not typical of my little guy who I typically have to drag out of the house, so it just proves this place is magic. He spoke so highly of his camp counselors/music teachers, Ben and Camille, and can’t wait to come back. Highly, highly recommended.“

321 E 69th St, New York“I cannot recommend the New York Conservatory of Music enough! I enrolled with the goal of learning piano, and I’ve been amazed by how much I’ve progressed. The faculty took the time to tailor lessons to my learning style, helping me not only develop strong technical skills but also gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of music. Their encouragement has fueled my passion and confidence. The personalized attention and expert guidance I’ve received here have truly been transformative.
The opportunities to perform in prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall have been incredibly rewarding, and the sense of community among students and instructors makes it a place I look forward to visiting every week. The group lessons, online classes, and master classes have provided additional layers of learning and growth. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced musician, this school is a fantastic place to cultivate your talent and love for music. If you’re serious about your musical journey, the New York Conservatory of Music is where you want to be!“
“James was my music teacher for many years. Back from when I was a kid. He is a good, kind, and decent man. Other than being a world class musician he is a world class human being. He is an excellent teacher and no matter how frustrated he may have been with me or any other student for that matter you would never know. His knowledge of music is unparalleled and the simplicity in which he can break down something that you may feel is too hard to understand so that you can understand it is uncanny. He teaches you the right way. By that I mean that he explains not just what you are playing but why you are playing it. His only demand is that you put in the time and practice so that you are not wasting time. Both his and yours. Anyone looking for a world class music instructor look no further. James is your man and the side effect of his teaching is that you can have the honor of saying that you know him.“

My daughter loves going to Joe music center gives her a sense of normality during the pandemic ( plus she been going a few years there ). Joe and Jeanette deserves 100 's stars This is truly a Covid safe place everyone adheres to the safety precautions. Thank you Joe and Jeanette for being who you are...“
“Both of my children have been taught, one piano and the other guitar at this music school. Ms. Catherine the owner and piano teacher has a real touch for connecting with children and has been doing this for a long time with great results. The place is located right on the border between LIC and Astoria in a safe neighborhood strip of stores. The guitar teacher has changed in the last year but the new one is much better than the old one according to my son. A really great place for children to learn a musical instrument.“
“My son attended 82nd Street Academics in the Pre-school and Pre-K program. One thing I can say for sure, they absolutely care about your child in every way possible. My son took time to adjust his first year and in no time he was making friends, loved his teachers and learned beyond what I expected. They are attentive, communicative and they've become part of the family and we're very thankful. We had the pleasure of growing with amazing teacher who I hope to still be around when my youngest is ready to attend pre-school.“
“Had an amazing time in Mr.Smiths class today at our local library. He has an amazing way of interacting with kids and a way of teaching them. So happy my son had this experience today“

Their teachers not only focus on them to learn how to play the piano, they also give them helpful tips on how to do learn a new note and to enjoy while they are learning, exercises for their fingers so they can be play better. If you let them know in advance about any changes on your schedule they always look for ways to fix your schedule into any of their available ones. We feel like family in here and piano is one of the activities they enjoy the most!!“
