About St. Marks Yoga
St. Marks Yoga is a welcoming and accommodating yoga studio that offers power vinyasa yoga classes with a suggested donation of $10 per 75-minute class. The teachers range from very good to incredible, providing modifications and encouragement to accommodate all levels of yogis. The studio's setting is described as perfect, and the space is gorgeous. The classes follow a one breath, one movement format, resulting in a fantastic workout that leaves attendees feeling healthy, strong, and refreshed. Instructors guide students through athletic sequences, encouraging them to set intentions and carry them throughout the practice using specific breathing techniques. The studio offers numerous class times throughout the week, making it easy to find a time that fits most schedules. The attendees are a diverse group of people, and the atmosphere is one of individual practice motivated and inspired by doing it with others. For example, a newcomer to yoga took Audrey's restorative class and was able to touch their toes for the first time, leaving feeling at ease and eager to return. Another attendee was blown away by Ricki's 7 PM class, describing her energy as magnetic and the experience as revitalizing for both body and spirit. Overall, St. Marks Yoga is a highly recommended and affordable yoga studio that provides a welcoming and individualized practice for all levels.
On the fence between a 3 and 4. I went here for a Pilates class, which is obviously less of a focus for the yoga studio. I liked the evident instructor knowledge, cueing and well rehearsed routine, solid technique with focus on breathing, that the instructor actually demoed the movements, generally good use of props, and the quiet environment of exposed brick walls. I wasn’t a fan of how softly the instructor spoke because it was at times hard to hear, 15 min. late policy felt a bit disruptive, minimal to no corrections, dirtiness of mirrors, simultaneous open windows with humidity and running A/C, same weight balls with different sizes, the massive towel to use...read full review
A grounded and approachable practice in a light filled, unfussy space. Guidance offered and space created for all levels. My body and mind will hate today’s long haul flight a little less. Thanks for class Andrea.
“Golden Ratio by Brian” is hands down one of my favorite classes. I’ve been going for a while now, and it’s become a real staple in my routine. Saturday morning, hour and a half, and you walk out feeling longer, lighter, and dialed in. Brian brings great energy, knowledge, and a strong sense of balance to the class.
