“This is without the very best shop in the the city. The vibe is so relaxed, friendly, warm, personable, you immediately feel very comfortable and know that you are in good hands. Tim has created and curated this environment for his customers. I started going to Tim about a year ago, right after a really bad barber had literally chopped my hair in so many layers that it is hard to describe what it looked like, but trust me it was not good. I found Tim at Public Image and within 7 months he had somehow managed to get my hair back in shape. I know how he managed, he is an expert when it comes to cutting hair. He listens, recommends and most importantly follows through and gives you the exact cut that you had discussed with him. I can't say enough about Tim other than he is just an all around spectacular guy even minus his expertise in cutting hair. Everyone do yourself a favor and book a haircut with Tim or actually any of the others in his shop! They are all great. Public Image NYC is a very solid 10“

Duneisy is very skilled at what she does. She made me feel comfortable with the choices I made and was so knowledgeable about the treatment and care for my hair that I trusted her right away. This will now be my go to spot and my go to stylist… and I’m excited to get extensions next. Today I did the Lasio Keratin treatment and my hair feels so sleek and soft and healthy. She gave me a great cut because of all my dead ends, took the time to educate me on care for my hair when I get home, recommended products that would truly help keep my style lasting longer. The atmosphere at the salon was inviting friendly and everyone including the owner made me feel so welcome. We laughed we chatted … the perfect spot for a gal/guy to get some hair therapy. “I started going to Shaggy five years ago upon a friend's recommendation, and have been seeing Yossi for cut and highlights. The salon is great, and Yossi is the BEST! I find his cut to be very chic and sophisticated, and I constantly get compliments. Both men and women take notice, and most are strangers on the street. Likewise for the color. He's created a beautiful, sexy warm-tone caramel color with subdued highlights.His thin highlights were placed carefully on the layers to accent the cut.Shaggy Hair Studio is warm, friendly and clean, appointments run on-time, but because the location is not convenient for me, I've tried other salons from time to time. NO ONE has been able to reproduce Yossi's cut. His ability to layer hair and work with clients' facial structure to enhance one's looks are what sets him apart from others. I am an artist myself, and see the incredible skill and talent he has. With only one head of hair, it remains my GO TO salon!Update-Having left the Salon during Covid, I only recently returned after 3 years. I tried many other salons, and never received a compliment for my haircut in those years. Yet just upon returning home after my visit, I was stopped immediately in my doorway and complimented to my surprise!“

Was definitely nervous coming in but I felt super at ease after talking through it and could not be happier with my results. Was able to go from medium brown to a vibrant dark red with no bleach which is exactly what I wanted. Can’t recommend this salon enough, good vibes, great staff, super clean, loved it!
