“Mike has been amazing!!! We were getting stressed walking our two dogs due to reactivity and pulling, and would get nervous whenever new people came to the house due to jumping and barking. Mike has been so helpful training our dogs in our home every week and teaching us how to teach them. We now enjoy our walks with the dogs again and have seen a amazing strides with staying in place when people come to the house. I can not recommend Mike and his team enough!“

“Mid Island Animal Hospital is a Veterinary practice and hospital that goes above and beyond. I wanted to share this experience so others, who love their animals, would know about how wonderful the care is at Mid Island Animal Hospital. I have been taking my golden retriever puppy there since she was 12 weeks old. Recently, my 17 month old dog stopped eating and was just sleeping all day which was not like her at all. I thought maybe she had a stomach parasite or some other simple issue. We were taken that same day and seen by Dr. Stephanie Acevedo. Dr. Acevedo was extremely professional, knowledgeable, patient, kind, and compassionate. She understood we were in shock and upset with the test results and she took the time to explain everything several times. She never rushed us out or made us feel bad about asking so many questions. She was so knowledgeable and compassionate. She was just great with my dog. The dog required emergency surgery and Dr. Acevedo arranged everything with the surgeon so that the procedure went smoothly. She guided and helped us through this difficult and stressful time. Thank God that the surgery was a success and my girl will be just fine. Huge thank you to Dr. Acevedo for saving my girl. I must also add that the Vet techs and front office personnel are just amazing. They treat both pets and families with kindness and respect. From beginning to end, this practice takes care of and goes above and beyond for their patients. Your family is in good hands at Mid Island Animal Hospital. “I sent my puppy, Charli, to Dedicated Dog Training for a two week Board & Train. James did a great job with her. From the beginning even before I sent her away, James was great communicating with me and was very helpful and responsive. He even came to me to meet Charli before agreeing to a Board & Train to make sure she was a good fit.

When she came back home, she seemed more responsive to commands, better with loose leash walking and generally just well mannered.

We had 3 follow-up lessons after she returned home so we were able to reinforce the things she learned. James also gave me tips and guidance so I can keep the training going.

“We have brought our Shiba here twice now (boarding for a week). Staff is great. Some are more knowledgeable about animals than others. But care and kindness is something that we have always seen (that is what matters most). They are also very professional. If there is a concern or request, they will assist you in a timely manner, and everything is noted. We had a few requests since our breed does not take well to other breeds, they were more than accommodating in giving him his own time away from the others, and allowing us to bring his own food (due to allergy) and bowls. One fixed issue we had the first time: our dog came back with kennel cough, we called them solely so they could inform the other pet owners...they surprised us with an email apologizing and asking for a copy of the vet bill(they paid for the whole thing!) Kennel cough is a normal thing (as per our vet), so don't get overly upset if this happens... we get colds on airplanes, yet we still fly! I do suggest bringing their own bowls (food and water) and making sure everything you bring is marked with their name.“
