“Scott responded immediately to after hours email. I was able to give him an error code, and he ordered the part on Friday, and was able to show up on Tuesday with the part. It took him about an hour and a half to dramatically disassemble my color LaserJet 4650 printer, and replace one of the laser scanners. He was exceedingly competent. For instance, he did not use an electric screwdriver, since he knew that it would strip out threaded holes for little machine screws. Scott must have taken about 15 parts off the printer, not counting 20 or 30 little machine screws, and got everything back together. When he was finished, the printer worked. “I heard Tony Yang, the CEO, on WAMC taking calls about computer problems shortly after I had dumped an entire glass of water on the keyboard of the MacBook Air I use for work. While I had most everything backed up on an external hard drive and a shared Google drive, the sheer volume of material that I work with on a day-to-day basis meant that I had lost quite a bit of work anyway. I knew I couldn't get the computer back up and running, and had already gotten a replacement from my employer, but I called into the show because I wanted to see if there was any possibility of recovering the data. Apple techs said they couldn't help, and that it probably wasn't possible. Tony told me on-air to bring it into his Central Ave shop in Albany. One of Tony's techs was able to remove the data from my damaged computer and install it in my new one in no time at all. Really amazing work. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again with a computer problem.“
