Puru helped identify the cause & suggested I contact the Software that was causing the CPU drainage.He got my old MacBook to keep going for another year or 2 & I'm forever grateful. He was also very straightforward about the repair cost & gave me a few suggestions weighing the choice between fixing it or getting a new laptopWill definitely be back when I need a new Macbook in a few years.
