“This salon - and especially Jet S at the Huntington location - are absolutely fantastic - the BEST! I had to find a new salon and stylist because my previous person left the field temporarily. And so I saw some photos of Jet's work on social media, so I decided to give her and Anthony DeFranco Salon a try, and.... as long as I live nearby, I'll now never go anywhere else!Jet is a true artist and the best stylist I've ever had, anywhere, anytime, ever. Each time I go in for a haircut, I want something different to change it up a bit. Jet not only creates the style I want, but she markedly improves it so that it fits my face and "me" even better. She and her assistant Jessica gave me the royal treatment. They used rollers, and a special conditioner. Susan angled my "fat frizzy" hair in the back for no extra charge. Zahra gives you her undivided attention, which is very rare in other salons where there are multiple other clients and workers. She’s genuine and works to make sure that you enjoy the final result while keeping your hair’s health in mind.

I value Zahra’s expertise with bleached hair. Many stylists will agree to bleach your hair and will not do a great job—just take a look at the disastrous before picture I’ve included.

Zahra knows what she’s doing, and she advises you based on what is realistic and healthy for your hair, not on how much money she can get out of you. She’s also worked with Redken, has a lot of experience, and uses high quality products.

As you can see you from the pictures, Zahra did a beautiful job. She didn’t take short cuts. It was Ramadan, and she worked on my hair until 2 am, and made sure my mother and I ate when we broke our fast. Her hospitality is unmatched. I appreciate that she made my mother—who was not getting her hair done—feel very comfortable.

Zahra’s not only talented and humble; she’s also very intentional about how she designs her space and client experiences. The salon is always clean, quiet, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. She shared her vision for the salon and life in general, and I can tell you that she has a strong sense of justice and a desire to connect and create community, especially among women of color. While someone may think that bears no relevance to her ability to do my hair, it damn sure does to me. I don’t want anyone with bad vibes touching my hair and sharing space with me for all of these hours.
