I have never paid $55 for a haircut or even spent so much on a hair product but so far this service was very very worth it.

I went over a year without a haircut and my new hair looks very similar to what it was before. However, there are many quality-of-life improvements since I now have layers, face framers, and curtain bangs that I can clip back. My head feels lighter and cooler. I was told the salt spray will last several months and every time I've used it so far, people noticed the extra texture.

Pro 1: Three detailed confirmations
- Online, I filled a survey answering a bit about who I am. Later, an experienced stylist, Vanessa, provided a free, 30-minute hair consultation 2 weeks before my appointment. During the appointment, Ash spent about 20 minutes confirming many details about my haircut before even pulling out the scissors. I am new to hair styling and these questionnaires allowed me to properly express what I want.

Pro 2: Very flexible
- Ash rescheduled due to my untimely jury duty even though it was within the 48 hours before my appointment that allows them to still charge me for abrupt cancellation. Additionally, they allowed me to give even shorter notice for rescheduling to confirm that my jury duty service would actually conflict. Even better, I registered for my hair consultation about three hours beforehand.

Pro 3: Good culture
- The studio and each stylist have an Instagram account. From there, I got the sense that Rebel cares deeply about self-expression no matter what that expression is. The brightly lit interior design of the studio looks color, surprisingly clean, and affirmative. Exemplifying the cleanliness by the front door is a mirror so clean that a vampire could mistake it for a doorway into a separate room.
All my interactions are professional and amicable and based on the small talk of everyone, the workplace is almost like a friend group.

Pro 4: Fast response
- By messaging Ash and Rebel on SMS or Instagram, I got a response in under a few hours even at night! I believe the studio prefer this over calling as my phone calls to Rebel weren't going through even during business hours.

All my life, my mother cut my hair because buzzcuts are basically free and easy. A few years ago, I decided to grow out my hair and really struggled to find someone to style it. My mother didn't know how to cut long hair; a barber shop was a bit confused by long hair on a man; and a salon was also similarly confused. I don't think I will have to hop around anymore
