Her Believe in Music Studio is an inspiring experience, with instruments mounted on the walls from all over the world. Marina is uniquely talented as a musician and teacher of music! She strives to instill the deep passion she feels for music into each student, whether young or old, beginner or advanced. While Marina is quite focused on technique, rhythm, and having her students feel the music, she also makes her lessons fun. She is patient, encouraging, and compassionate. It is wonderful to have the chance to learn from such an extraordinary piano teacher. - Linda Keesing“

She expertly teaches technique, prepares students for exams, and puts her heart into organizing beautiful recitals at Steinway. Under her guidance, my daughter's confidence soared. 6501 Polk St, West New York“So... where do I start? As a first-year student in one of NYC's competitive musical theatre programs and studying in the Mecca of all things professional theatre, I found a voice teacher who was patient with me and helped me grow as an artist. Ms. Lisa has been a key contributor to my success! She taught me how to walk into a room and introduce myself, sustain healthy vocal techniques while using my authentic voice, and reassured me through all my doubts as a senior in high school transitioning to college, reminding me that I deserved to pursue this amazing art form. If there's a place to learn prime vocal technique, it's in NJ at Theater Steps with Ms. Lisa. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND START LEARNING WITH THEATERSTEPS!“

The faculty took the time to tailor lessons to my learning style, helping me not only develop strong technical skills but also gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of music. Their encouragement has fueled my passion and confidence. The personalized attention and expert guidance I’ve received here have truly been transformative.
The opportunities to perform in prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall have been incredibly rewarding, and the sense of community among students and instructors makes it a place I look forward to visiting every week. The group lessons, online classes, and master classes have provided additional layers of learning and growth. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced musician, this school is a fantastic place to cultivate your talent and love for music. A special shout-out to Kaitlin, who leads the Summer Musical Theater program. She’s incredible — loving, extremely prepared, and endlessly patient. The annual community events they organize are amazing and full of heart.
Also, Myra from Student Services is always on top of everything. She’s accessible, supportive, and helps with any schedule changes my kids need. I’m very happy and impressed with the education and overall experience my children are receiving.
Highly recommended! ??“

16 Chestnut St, Emerson“My son has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Joy for about four years, and we couldn’t be happier. She is incredibly patient and thoughtful in how she paces each lesson — never overwhelming him, but always keeping him motivated and engaged. What I appreciate most is how she makes learning the piano enjoyable, so it never feels like a chore.
She also goes above and beyond to create meaningful experiences for her students. Twice a year, she organizes wonderful recitals where students can showcase their progress. She makes these events truly special by recognizing each child with named trophies, medals, or thoughtful gifts. On top of that, she encourages students to participate in auditions, which has given my son valuable opportunities to grow, take on new challenges, and significantly improve his skills.
We feel very lucky to have her as a teacher and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an inspiring and dedicated piano instructor.“
“I've purchased a few necks from Kim. I explained to him what I wanted to accomplish and he offered recommendations. While not cheap, his necks are hand-made and even better than described on Kim's webpage. In the chain of variables effecting tone, the neck is pretty key. I can't say, in words, how much I appreciate and respect Kim. He truly is a master craftsman and expert on saxophone tone.“
