“A rare find. A wealth of knowledge, and a doctor who wants to take his time to share it. His office is old and cluttered, but that's likely because it has a lifetime of information in it. I had a very long appointment. If that's something you don't want, its understandable. I was surprised by the time he spent. He's probably losing money for what insurance give him for a basic eye exam... But I don't think this man is in it for the money. He loves people, stories and helping them. There are not enough medical professionals out there who put the effort in that he does.“

“Dr. Alan Schlussel is one of the most thorough, caring and compassionate doctors you will ever encounter. For the past year, Dr. Schlussel has treated my dry eye and allergy issues. He also alerted me about my very high eye pressures which sent me to an ophthalmologist for surgery to save my eyesight. If you need an eye exam or are suffering from discomfort due to dry eye or allergies, I cannot recommend Dr. Schlussel more. His team, Annette, Francesca, and Brenda are all wonderful, kind and accommodating. The office runs smoothly with little to no wait time yet Dr. Schlussel spends quality time with each patient and fully explains procedures and medications. “For years, I had had dryness, scratchy eyes, tearing and blurry vision. My vision was so bad at nighttime that I couldn’t drive. All my other eye doctors only gave me artificial tears which didn’t help. When I came to see Dr. Hirschfeld, he immediately realized my problem and gave me punctum plugs.
