“Overall, a very good experience. They replaced my roof and gutters and did some interior repair and painting. Daniel was particularly great to work with - kept us informed and was exceptionally responsive. While there were a couple minor issues that crop up in many jobs, once he was made aware, he got them resolved quickly and properly. They were 1/2 the price of the big box stores for higher quality product. David the installer was very methodical in his work and is a true craftsmen. “Clay at Statewide Construction completed a few jobs for us related to buying our new (older) home. Our realtor recommended him initially to look over the home inspection report prior to closing as we negotiated a fair credit towards home repairs. He charged a nominal fee and walked us through each item via phone, since we were out of state. We were convinced when it came time to tackle that “to do” list, he would be our first call. Within a few weeks of closing we discovered an issue with squirrels getting into the attic. We were still out of state at the time and it took less than a day for him to send a crew out to shore up any holes in the space. Fast forward a few months and we decided to replace our “new” 20 year old roof and also address some exterior water damage. All work was completed promptly by his professional crew at a fair rate. Especially, if you want a showpiece space that will stand out from the typical work and style done by other deck builders you’ll find in the Triangle. We were truly blown away by the quality of work, one-of-a-kind design tailored to our needs, and craftsmanship on our screened-in porch/deck build we completed this summer with CDG.

“Between helping to care for aging parents, their deaths, and the pandemic, my house suffered from “squeaky wheel syndrome” — meaning only the most urgent problems got any attention. I hired Jeff to fix some rotted wood trim I had found on garage windows. But Jeff’s initial inspection identified several other areas of serious rot, with the worst compromising the integrity of a 3-panel sliding patio door. When Jeff showed me the problem areas and explained the extent of the damage, I was expecting him to say that replacing the windows and door was the only option — an option that I knew I couldn’t afford given that the door alone would cost about $9K. Fortunately for me, Jeff has amazing skills he learned from repairing and restoring wooden boats. Jeff worked miracles on restoring 14 rotted window frames, making them solid and looking almost new. His repairs are so seamless that I have difficulty identifying which areas were restored. Jeff takes pride in his work and takes the time to do each step correctly. Because restoration is often a multi-step process, Jeff might not be the fastest or cheapest — but he is the best! The high quality of his work has kept Jeff busy in our neighborhood as neighbors could see the before/after results and asked Jeff to put their homes on his schedule.
Before writing this review, I waited a couple of months after Jeff had finished to make sure the repairs held up and I was still pleased with his work. I can confidently say I highly recommend Jeff Borchers because he is a rare find - a true craftsman with a huge skill set, extensive knowledge, and years of experience — but most important the ability to find a solution to whatever problem arises.“

“Split Oak Homes is a wonderful builder and amazing to work with. Owners (Mike & Drew) are accessible, great at both communication and listening to your ideas. The process was smooth from beginning home designs through selections (lighting, hardware, cabinets, colors, etc) to delivery and closing. These guys and their team make it an exceptional experience and we had fun with the process. Especially appreciate the actual owner being onsite at the house daily, rather than a superintendent who drives through to check in on the guys working on your house. “I hired ASR after buying a new home in Raleigh. As part of my home inspection, there were several concerns regarding a sill plate and shims in the crawlspace. I then had an engineer take a look and provided several specific remediation steps. I got quotes from several companies to repair the crawlspace as described by the engineers. Every quote, except for ASR, tried to upsell me or tried to say the engineers didn't go far enough. ARS gave me a great price, did exactly what was described in the engineers report, was flexible to my schedule, and did it the right way with an inspection by Wake County. “We bought a house that had been built in the 1980’s that was in desperate need of renovation.
Distinctive Remodeling (DR) was recommended by a firm that had done a major remodel for me but was not available to help on this project. After that recommendation and the other glowing reviews, we decided to team up with DR. In 2-3 months DR did a detailed design with 3d rendering which was very accurate of what the final product turned out to be. They listened to our input and the design was very much a collaborate effort. We didn’t change the outside footprint of the house but took the inside down to the studs. We were very pleased with the entire design team, from the designer to the project manager. Everyone was easy to work with. The house turned out wonderful, easy to live in, and high quality..
