“I’ve lived more than half a century, and throughout our lives, we go through so many different experiences—some joyful, and some painful.
Last week brought another unexpected hardship and a lot of pain into my life. But at the same time, it also brought me an unexpected source of strength, comfort, and gratitude.
Lily just turned two, and she has been going to Pooch Pad since she was a puppy. She absolutely loves going there and playing with her friends. Honestly, I sometimes think she may love the staff even more! She gets to go on walks, enjoy city walks, have treats, and spend time with everyone there.
Whenever I see Lily and the other dogs together at Pooch Pad, it’s so obvious how much they are loved and cared for.
Then, completely unexpectedly, a personal emergency came up, and I had no choice but to leave town. I couldn’t take Lily with me, and I had to find somewhere for her to stay immediately. There wasn’t even a reservation available.
I simply showed up at Pooch Pad, explained what was happening, and asked for help.
What happened next meant more to me than I can put into words. They treated my situation as if it were their own. They acted quickly, but at the same time, they were incredibly thoughtful and attentive to every little detail.
Because of them, I was able to leave in the middle of everything, travel for a week, and take care of what I needed to without constantly worrying about Lily.

Maybe it took me a little longer than it should have to realize it, but I feel like Lily and I have found another family.
