“I stopped in Hendersonville Opticians today. After looking over the attractive selection of frames and selecting one, I mentioned to the owner Jimmy, that I had had cataract surgery for both eyes about two months ago. He immediately asked me if I had Medicare and, when I responded in the affirmative, he recommended that I go to another store that he knew accepted Medicare. It should be known that although Medicare does not have an eyeglass plan, they do cover necessary eyeglass prescriptions for patients who have undergone cataract surgery. I probably would not have not this had he not told me. Since moving to this area of North Carolina, from out of state, my wife and I have been amazed at the ubiquitous honesty and kindness of the North Carolinians we have met. Jimmy was no different. On top of everything else, upon noticing the broken pair of glasses clenched in my hand, he offered to repair it for me and refused our attempt to pay him for this. We're glad to be living here.“
