“Last week's high winds tore down the Duke power line that feeds us, a few miles from us (we are at the end of a 20-mile line), and knocked out our power. Our generator, purchased from and installed by Chisholm Service earlier this year (2023), started right up as it should -- it was the first time it had actually been used (other than the regular testing).(The specification and installation process was very professional, including Chisholm obtaining additional information regarding our application -- at my request -- from the manufacturer, Generac. Chisholm did exactly what they said they would do and the price was very competitive.)We have an Internet and mailorder business in a house-converted-to-office. The generator (28 KW commercial model, propane fueled, black-start) handles the entire building including all-season HVAC, well pump, refrigerator, lighting, computers and computer services, office machines, everything. No messing around trying to shift or balance loads. Our particular generator is a "serious machine", intended for complex commercial applications, including highly sensitive electronic equipment. I has an automobile engine and is water cooled. It sounded like a big pickup truck was running in the back yard.When the power went out, the generator started right up and kept us going and our staff working & comfortable, completely as normal, for about 4.5 hours until power was restored. Even though it ran for 4.5 hours, the fuel consumption was negligible -- on our 500 gallon propane tank, the fuel gauge registered at most a 1% change in available fuel. Everything happened exactly as we expected.As the owner of our company, having the generator has greatly reduced my stress. I used to be constantly on edge every time there was a storm (or at any time) -- a lot can go wrong with a 20 mile power line, whether a car crash or a tree falling. This outage happened in the afternoon when I WAS in the office and could have done something about it (our computer systems are also on backup batteries and thus I can make an orderly shutdown if I am here). However, usually the power used to go out at 2 AM or such, a couple times per year, and I would have to hustle to the office (running through the woods to our office, at night, usually during a bad storm) and rush to try to get the computer servers and workstations shut down. Previously, often I could not get all the shutdowns done in time before the battery backups quit and thus some of the computers would crash. These are 10-13 year-old machines which run 24/7/365 when we have power (because we serve a couple websites and some remote-working employees located around the country and around the world) and these machines do NOT like getting turned off (there is a significant risk that one or more of the older computer servers might not restart). SO... having the generator has made my life much less stressful.I would absolutely again buy a generator from Chisholm if I ever need another. It is very helpful that Chisholm has their own in-house electricians -- no scheduling or "finger pointing" problems between contractors!For at least 20 years, I have also used Chisholm Service for all our HVAC needs on two properties. In the last year and also four years ago, respectively, I had Chisholm replace the entire elderly HVAC systems on our two properties. I have been very happy with the professional service, the competitive prices, and they have always responded quickly if we needed something.“

“I recently contacted Justin to see if he could send someone over to check our main breaker panel due to power loss in half of the house. He set me up with an appointment first thing the next morning. The electrician and his helper showed up about 15 mins ahead of schedule. They were polite and willing to explain everything they were checking for. After being unable to locate any issues inside the house or with the main panel, it was explained to me that the issue could possibly be on the utility company’s side and advised that I have them out to take a look before making any unnecessary costly repairs to the electrical system. These two guys checked all my outlets, breakers, and even crawled under my house to look for any issues. They pointed out a couple things I may need to fix in the future while doing so. After all that, I was happy to find that my bill for all of the investigating they had done came out to less than $200. I will definitely have them out in the future as they came well recommended by a friend/brother of mine who knows a lot of great people you can count on.“

“Our breaker for the lights on our deck kept kicking off so we call LaTour. They were prompt, discovered the issue, and fixed it. they also explained everything about the issue and what they did to fix it. If we have any other electrical issues down the road we will call LaTour every time. I recommend them for anyone that has electrical issues. The two men who did the work were extremely friendly and excellent workers!“
