11039 Gravois Industrial Ct, St. Louis“NW did projects for me at my newly purchased home. Upgraded from 100 to 380 AMP service, and added a subpanel for garage. This house was built in 1976. I found NW from NECA (National Electical Contractors Assocation) because I could not find a TRUELY lisenced contractor in my area.
These guys dealt with permits, Amerum, directional boring, and installation of 3 panels. This was not a small job.
Done on time, passed all STL countty inspections, and I sleep well at night. Could i have done it with bubba for less? Yes. Not with permits, and directional boring. NECA, IBEW means they know the code, and code keeps everyone safe. Not to mention when you sell your property - Explaining to buyer why your upgrade didn't have a permit :)
Don't mess around with un-licensed contrators. I sleep well, and so do my kids and neighbors.“

3402 Watson Rd, St. Louis“Highly recommend!!We needed some emergency electrical consulting and work done in our old south city home. Within a couple hours of first calling we had someone (I suspect the company owner) with eyes on the problem and prioritized getting a crew to us a few hours after that. The crew was knowledgable and explained the problem and what they were doing to fix it. After all that, the bill was very reasonable. Based on our experience, we plan to call Collins for all future electrical needs.“

Squires responded with a last minute appointment and Nathaniel was terrific -he showed up on time, figured out what was wrong and replaced two plugs all with plenty of time to spare. And he is a very pleasant person as well. Couldn't have gone better. Thank you!“

10 Sunnen Dr Suite 125, St. Louis“My wife and I had RJP Electric do a bunch of work on our house recently - recessed lighting, new outlets, new exhaust fans, etc. It was a laundry list of things we've been wanting since we moved in.
The project manager, Tom, came out to
provide the estimate. He helped guide us through what we needed, and made some very helpful suggestions to make things even better than what we had thought.
Brian, the electrician who performed the work, was fantastic. He was here for over four days, completing the litany of items we requested. He verified the placement of new lights with us before proceeding, and really helped us make good decisions.
We are extremely happy with all the work done! And RJP did it for about half of the estimate we got from another large, local, electrical company. We will be using them for any future projects, and recommending them to all our family and friends.“

8301 Crest Industrial Dr, St. Louis“It's not often these days that a business goes above and beyond, but Zimmerman sure did today. I work from home in a a little studio in my backyard with a window unit. I had gone into my house and when I went back out there the power was out and there was a slight smell of smoke that I thought I had smelled yesterday. I figured that the issue was a breaker since the electricity was on in the house. I checked the breaker and sure enough it had tripped, but I couldn't get it to go back on.
Luckily, I found a business card from Zimmerman that a neighbor had given me some time ago with a recommendation if I ever needed an electrician. I called and the phone was immediately answered by a lovely woman named Debbie. I explained the situation and that I really needed help because I needed to get some things done before I retire this Friday. She said the day was already scheduled, but that she would call the owner Joe Zimmerman and see if he could personally stop by this afternoon and she would call me back. Debbie called me back promptly and asked if I had a window unit in my office and when I said yes she said Joe wanted me to try something before he came out. She stayed on the phone with me while I unplugged all my equipment & the window unit and went back in the garage to the breaker box. This time I was able to switch the breaker back on. She told me to plug the AC back in and when I went to do that I noticed a burned spot in the power cord and exposed wires. She didn't need to tell me NOT to plug it back in!
This business could have totally taken advantage of me, but instead they (especially Debbie) were amazingly kind, responsive, and professional. I asked Debbie to send me a bill for the remote help and she said no, they were very happy they could help me. I will certainly call Zimmerman Electric the next time I need any electrical work.“

4667 Green Park Rd, St. Louis“I hired Schaeffer to run a new 220 outlet for an electric dryer. Craig (tech) did a great job! He was prompt, super friendly and answered all of my questions. He then proactively asked me if I needed a dryer cord. I thought the dryer came with one, but I was wrong. Craig anticipated this need which meant I got the right cord the first time and it was installed properly, saving me time and frustration.
Great experience! I recommend!“

4123 Crescent Dr, St. Louis“The technician replaced several outlets in our “kitchen annex” that were worn out and painted over, and relocated one higher up on the wall closer to a worktable surface so that our appliance plugs could reach. He also replaced a grubby looking combination light switch/GFCI in our bathroom. We were planning to have these things done in an upcoming big job, but plugs were truly falling out of some of these outlets, and it was too inconvenient and potentially hazardous to wait months with full service contractors being so busy. Since he only does these small, simple jobs, he got back to me in less than a day to schedule and was actually available sooner than I was. Five days after getting in touch, this is finally off my to-do list. Very friendly, communicative, and provides a great value.“

With other companies failing to return calls, show up when expected, and so on, this was a fantastic experience! It was a simple task, and it was completed quickly and at a reasonable cost. I was very pleased with their friendliness and professionalism, and I will not hesitate to use Universal Electrical Services again in the future.“

“If it were possible, I'd give this job 4.5 stars. The electrician was great: friendly, knowledgeable, informative, and efficient. He was willing, if necessary, to stay late on a Friday afternoon to finish the job, but he was done well before EOB. So the only reason I didn't give the job five stars is that our discount as Home Protection subscribers seemed surprisingly small, ~$130 on a $900+ job. That's better than nothing, certainly, but given how much we spend every month and every year on the plan, I thought the discount would be a little more substantial.“
