“Our project was small but a little unusual: designing and installing the hardscaping that would provide the structure for future landscaping. We had a design in mind — something that would look good now but fit into the overgrown English garden look we eventually want. It included a couple of patios, stepping stone paths and a garden bed along the sidewalk with picket fence sections between pillars of stacked stone. It all had to look natural, and like it could have been there for years. We talked to several companies, but Charlie was the only one who really listened and got the vibe we were looking for. He worked with us on the final design and was very responsive throughout. He had great suggestions. When the work began, his crew was amazing: polite, efficient and extremely professional. They were careful to avoid damage to the yard and left it spotless each night. We could not be more impressed with them.“

The new design included re-grading, numerous trees and shrubs, boulder and paver installation, retaining walls, mulch and sod installation. Jesse coordinated with at least 4 other teams that were working on other projects all at the same time. In some cases he helped pull permits for them and combined work to get something done.

We really appreciated his flexibility and attitude on this. Every time something came up he approached it positively with a can-do attitude.

Our new yard looks gorgeous and we are extremely happy with it. I also feel like they were honest with their pricing. Every time there was a change or amendment they updated our pricing proposal, even if we removed work or material during install. We finally ended up on revision #9 and I feel everything was competitively priced.

I have recommended Beds and Borders to a few friends already, they are the best landscape company I have interacted with and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again on anything else.

“John, Jared, and Joe are an incredible team and completed the near impossible task of removing prior shoreline steel seawall and replacing it with a wood retaining wall combined with rock riprap. They did all their work in the middle of winter and obtained the required permit from the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District. The permit required a variance from the like-kind replacement rule and took about 9 months, 2 consulting engineers, and lots of sketches and drawings. They couldn't have obtained the permit unless the MCWD trusted them to play by the rules and do it right. The combined retaining wall and riprap was about 130 ft of shoreline. “Brett and his Lan-De-Con team did an incredible job on our hardscape patio design and install this fall. Brett has a real artistic approach about him that we appreciated in the creative design that he came up with. He asked us a good deal of questions about what we wanted, then he took our requests and custom built a patio underneath our deck and porch for a hot tub, outdoor living space and natural gas fireplace.

His team was very pleasant to work with, completed the project well ahead of their listed timeframe and came in at budget. Their price point seemed very competitive with the other bids we received, and Brett let us visit the landscape supply company to pick out our own stone, fireplace surround and trim.
