The woman behind the counter was incredibly kind and empathetic to my circumstances and took several minutes to just talk with me about him and then shared her story about her own dog’s passing not long ago. The connection to our humanity, and genuine rapport with one’s clientele is a key factor in my decisions about where I spend my money.
