“I received an in person quote. The in person part should not be important but it is, I received 2 quotes from others, who used a Google earth photo to quote, never spoke with either of them just a picture of my house and a price. Having Gerry at my home allowed me to discuss my specific ideas allowing Gerry to come up with the best fit for my needs. He and his crew arrived exactly when they said they would and began work. Due to rain my start date was pushed as Gerry wanted to make sure the base layer was dry and proper for pouring concrete. When everything had dried his crew arrived and set-up only to have the cement plant run out of a key component and close for the day. His crew took it in stride and arrived the very next day ready to go. I would not consider my job a normal job, It was 3 trucks in total, 21 yards of concrete, several rain delays and a concrete shortage. Throughout all of this Gerry was very clear in his communication and let me know what was happening. The whole process of concrete is a messy job, do not fool yourself and thinking it will just appear magically in place, Gerry and his crew made sure to protect my siding so concrete would not get splashed onto it. They used pieces of plywood (and their own bodies) to keep concrete splashing to a minimum. They picked up around the site each day and did not have junk left behind.The crew works very well together. They are all proficient at their job and can overlap tasks getting everything completed. They are loud and yell at one another, but they all have smiles on their faces. This is a very labor-intensive job, the way they all perform this work day in and day out is incredible. They all do this for their living and know exactly what needs to be done, no short cuts, no complaining, no surprises.Gerry the owner, He quotes the jobs and is on site, concrete on his boots, concrete on his hands. He is the hardest working owner I am sure you will find. He knows concrete work, he is still working each job personally. He is also the boss and his crew listen to his direction and instruction he leads them to a high quality end product.Nick the Artist, His working of concrete is that of an artist. He is setting forms, he levels the concrete and does the finishing work, He is arriving before the sun and cutting the next day. I don’t know what keeps him going other than Pride in his work and the love of happy customers!Curtis the muscle, He is quiet, head down grinding! During the tear out Curtis was seen several times sledge hammer in hand breaking the large slabs into smaller pieces to fit in the dump truck (He may or may not have been in the truck depending if you are an MIOSHA person or not). He quietly and confidently gets work done!Frank the eager, First to jump in the path of splashing concrete to keep it off of my property, allowing himself to be splashed and covered with concrete. He is the eager because, from what I understand, he keeps purchasing his own tools so he can get more involved in the finishing of the concrete. At one point he was smashed into a tiny ball under one of my bushes so he could finish the sidewalk edge.Mike the Floater, He worked the float, he followed behind Nick and made sure the concrete was flat. Mike worked on setting forms, and pulling forms as well but, he was the main guy working the Float, Nick loved it when Mike asked for additional concrete or needed to refloat a section because of leaves…Alex the loud, I would come into the house to let my wife know things that were happening outside but, she already knew because Alex may have mentioned it already. Alex ran the power buggy and poured the concrete, his accuracy and maneuverability was very skillful. I thought for sure he would run at least one steak over or bump a form. He never did. “I used to refer to my utility/laundry room as "the ugly room" and was ashamed to let anyone see it. In late January, I had the old furnace and hot water tank removed and replaced with a new combi-unit on-demand Navien system. The old system had been leaking and the floor was completely ruined, which was the main reason the room was so ugly. Mack and his crew removed the old flooring and installed new vinyl plank flooring, which looks great! Working with Mack and his crew was a wonderful experience. Mack is extremely friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. We had one little hang up with a clogged waste line, which wasn't even something that Mack was responsible for, but he immediately sent a plumber to fix the problem for me. “TLDR: Extremely meticulous, hardworking, honest, talented team that charges very fairly that I cannot recommend enough.We had a flood and needed new LVP throughout the main floor. We were working with an insurance contractor for that project, but in the meantime contacted American Dream flooring to do our hallway and stairs which were not covered by insurance. They advised us that the flooring we picked was poor quality and recommended a much better brand (they don’t make any money on the flooring itself, they just charge labor) and even said that if we had any questions or concerns when the other team was doing the main floor we could call them.They did a fantastic job on the first project. So fantastic, that when our insurance contractor was taking an extremely long time to do the main floor we called American Dream back and they were able to fit us in and do our whole main floor. They made sure everything was level and there were no squeaks (not easy to do in our house!) and explained everything they were doing. The quality of the finished work is outstanding and they fixed a lot of previous mistakes that were made when the old floor was installed. It’s clear they take pride in their work. Their prices are extremely reasonable, and they saved me over a thousand dollars compared to what the insurance contractor wanted to charge. They are one of the rare teams I genuinely trust to work on my house. Honestly I just wish I had more jobs for them to do!“
