“Followed my previous doctor out here. Out of the way for us, but good doctors are hard to find. Easy to find just off Orchard Lake Road. They have several parking spots out front. I think plenty for the number of appointments that could occur at the same time. This store is quite large inside. Tons of frame options from Shinola to Maui Jim's. They even have WiFi. Doctor Sasha Kashat is the sweetest AND knowledgeable. I love her professionalism and kindness all in one. Happy to drive an hour one way to see her.“

All the lady’s here are so nice, they treat you like family ❤️BUT….Totally disgusted with the chairs that this company supply their workers with and expect them to put in an 8 hour day with. I’m in total shock that any decent company would think a footstool is acceptable for their employees to sit in all day. Totally unacceptable and questioning if I want to give such a business my money when they can so easily disrespect their employees like this!“

“I feel terrible about my previous negative post concerning Optik. I've been a devotee for years because Amy and Kirsten know my tastes and strive to help me discover styles they know I will like. They also always make the best use of my vision insurance. Not only are they polite and gracious, but a visit has become an enjoyable experience. I can be an enormous pain in the posterior. I reacted childishly and with rudeness over a minor issue. Not as a cop-out, but SSDI awarded me disability for that honky thing between my ears and my emotional maturity of a six-year old. It's not like I dreamed of being a head-case any more than someone in a wheelchair would make that a goal. I over-reacted and I was wrong to publicly suck my thumb and pout. It's a terrific store with a terrific staff including Dr. Joe and the volunteer work he does to improve people's lives in Africa. A sincere apology is all I can offer at this point.“

“I just had to leave a review and thank the staff for their help. I sauntered in on Saturday after visiting two other opticians in the area to see if they could replace the nose pad for my THEO glasses. With each visit, I was asked to go somewhere else for help. These glasses are kind of specialized and unique. SHADES Optical happens to be a carrier of this particular brand and lucky for me, they diagnosed the issue before I even I took them off my face.The problem? A smooshed and unfortunately bent pair of glasses, no longer shaped to fit my face. To my complete shock, I had forgotten what they were supposed to feel like when properly fitted and simply went weeks (months?) wearing them at like 50% of the efficiency they should have possessed.The staff graciously (and helpfully!) took them off my face, replaced the missing pad, re-shaped and bent everything back into place, tightened the arms and polished them off in record time. Within 10 minutes, I was back in business — they once again fit amazingly and I felt a bit silly that I had gone on wearing them half crooked and falling off my nose. I wasn't even aware of my own pain, hah. The cost? No charge, just a desire to help another mildly-obsessed optical-person feel good again.We then chatted for a couple of minutes about a few other unique lines I had been looking for (which they carried!). While there, another customer walked in and dropped praise (a great sign) for SHADES. I promised them that I would be back to buy my next pair — with service this great, why not?Thanks a-million SHADES! See you soon. :-)“
“I have been going to Primary eye care for over 15 years for exams and glasses. I have been very satisfied with their professionalism. I recently had to have an adjustment of my frames. The adjustment was done and out I walked. Sometime later my wife told me that I had an indentation on each side of my head where the arms of the frames went. My glasses kept slipping and they were very uncomfortable. I went back for another adjustment and Michelle was working. Bottom line. The previous "adjustment" damaged the frame and Michelle replaced the frame and fit them perfectly to my head. I will keep going there but will make sure Michelle is working when I go. GREAT JOB Michelle.“
“I recommend this place.It is a bit higher for the lenses ($122 at the store vs $82 online), but there is value:1. Diane has good taste, and she can help with suggestions for the right frames for the right face.2. You get to try the glasses on, and she has a good amount to choose from.3. If you buy two sets of lenses, the second one is half off.She can get lenses put into frames purchased from outside retailers. I purchased caviar lenses, and she does not have a relationship with them anymore. But, she was / is able to get the lenses into the frames that I purchased.“

They've done an excellent job navigating the hurdles put in everyone's path by COVID mandates and requirements.“
“I've been going to Dr. Lindahl for 20 years and now my daughters are both wearing glasses and contacts and love going into his office too. He and his staff, Karen and Heather and all of them are amazing and kind and make us feel special. Dr. Lindahl was an advocate for me to find an eye surgeon who would handle my severe myopia and astigmatism. I pushed hard for surgery as years of wearing contacts began taking its toll and my eyes were always red and irritated. After consulting several surgeons in the US, he called Dr. Tayfor at the Windsor Laser Eye Institute who was able to handle my case without a problem. Without Dr. Lindahl advocating for me for years, I would still be suffering with my eye problems. Instead, my life has changed for the better as I no longer need glasses or contacts. He is gentle and knowledgeable and I cannot recommend Dr. Lindahl and his staff enough.“
