“I called several funeral homes in the area.
From the first time someone answered I knew this would be the place.
The voice behind the phone was filled with compassion and comfort. Yet I asked her to call me back.
She did right on time. It turns out this was the most affordable place where we could gift my recently passes sister with A Cedar Bath. Our cultural way to cleanse our loved ones.
When I posted details for friends and family, on social media; an ol pal from elementary school reached out to tell me she works at this place. We had been out of touch for a decade or more till that moment.
Even tho I lost a sister I reconnected with a friend. I knew this place would be true to the definition of Dignity.
As with many losses there was some family drama. The team handled us all with great care even as some of us lost our tempers towards the others.
The inside of the funeral home was beautiful.
Cleaned well, easy to navigate the building.
Each room we visited felt comfortable, not to many distractions for my ADHD.
The chapel was large with many seats and decorated in calm beauty.
The restrooms were clean.
The staff radiated care, understanding, and confidence in themselves and what they do.
I would have my funeral here if I lived in Lansing.
