About Costco Vision Center
Costco Vision Center provides good service and price, with many noting the care from the doctor is fantastic, excellent, and that staff go above and beyond. The customer service is often described as fabulous, super nice, and happy to help, making exchanges straightforward. However, experiences with the optical department itself can be mixed. Some report issues with frames falling apart at the joint shortly after purchase and encountering unhelpful responses. Others find new glasses can be super uncomfortable, heavy, and hurt the bridge of the nose, sometimes requiring multiple adjustments. While prices can be lower than other stores, some insurance may not provide coverage. The overall experience suggests that while clinical care is highly praised, the durability and fit of eyewear may vary, but the customer service is generally willing to resolve problems.
First time ever getting glasses through Costco. I haven't gotten the glasses yet, but I gotta say, you can't beat the price that they're charging for quality frames and lenses. Nice Ray-Ban frames and high-index transition lenses for high myopia, for less than 270 out the door is about as good as it gets. I can't see myself going anywhere else for glasses ever again. Thanks Costco Optical!
The actual vision exams themselves are fine, but the system they that they use for the trial contact lenses work is pretty horrible.
It's also really hard to set up an appointment? If you call them to set up an appointment, they'll force you to fill out a form on a website instead. That form promises that they'll reach out to you within one business day, but in the past 3 years I have only actually had them reach out to me once. The other 2 times I had to go to a different optometrist in the city because the promised phone call to set things running never came.
Why can't we just set up an appointment over the phone like every other doctors and specialist...read full review
So I actually really liked the doctor here but the optical department itself is horrible. I got frames that fell apart at the joint and bought a replacement then the SAME thing happened to those only a couple months after I got them. When I called to see what could be done they blamed me and said that they can't replace them. I'm lucky I had contacts because I'm pretty much blind with out glasses.
