“Celine was phenomenal today and went above and beyond for my 5 year old who has sensory issues and usually has meltdowns during haircuts. Celine went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable, spent time letting him preview the different tools and the sounds they made, and got him a mask to keep the hair out of his mouth. “Earlier today, I had an 11:30 appointment with Joey that took an unexpected turn. I inquired about the pricing for my service—facial hair only—and was quoted a price. I then asked if this pricing was listed on the website, and when it wasn’t, Joey responded by suggesting, “Maybe this isn’t the place for you.”

That statement was not only surprising, but also deeply offensive. I had previously vetted this barbershop and had a detailed conversation with a staff member before booking and paying for services. I’ve never had an African-American barber speak to me that way, so to hear it from someone who isn’t was both audacious and extremely inappropriate—especially in a space that should be a sanctuary of professionalism and respect.

I chose to leave Joey’s chair. Thankfully, the gentleman in the first chair and his wife stepped in and connected me with Jimbo, who completely turned my experience around. Their kindness and professionalism made all the difference.“

“Found this small full service salon, when I was desperate for a color and haircut. The owner, Mario and stylist, Natalie, conferred and suggested a treatment I’d never been offered - I usually get full foils for bright blond hair, but I was in need of some variation in color, as I was looking too bleached. Natalie took her time, starting at the nape of my neck, and working all over my head - that was a first! Usually, the back of my hair is foiled lightly, and when I put up my hair, it shows very dark. Natalie was thorough, skilled, and she took a lot of pride in her work! I’d 100% come back to Mario Savii and will schedule with Natalie again!! Great salon - welcoming and professional- they provide a level of excellent and affordable quality of service that Edgewater needs!“

“I have been trying to get my son to go see Tony for years. Tony was a classmate. Finally got my adult son in there due to urgent need -we had a funeral the next day. Tony took us eve thru it was after hours - stayed late to get my son's hair done. My son must have liked the cut because he asked me about it again and said he wants to go back. I highly recommend this shop.“
