I started following Paula on IG back in 2019 when she was in Atlanta, which I so wanted to visit I was turning 50 and needed a new cut/style, however it never happened. “Awa is not only an excellent braider, but she is truly an awesome human being. She started doing my mother’s hair around 2017 when she was going through chemotherapy. My mom’s stylist would not put chemicals in her hair and she referred her to Awa for a protective style.

Whenever my mom needed her hair done Awa adjusted her schedule to coincide with my mother’s last chemo treatment of the week. She treated my mom with utmost respect and she made her feel very special.

Then fast forward to right after COVID, my mom wanted her hair braided again (she lives about 3 hours away) Awa took special precautions because she knew my mother had a weakened immune system. Awa sees you as a person, not just as a paycheck.
