As a 50-year-old with zero CrossFit experience, walking into a gym during the 2026 CrossFit Open could have been intimidating but it was the complete opposite at this place. Everyone was welcoming, introduced themselves, and even asked about which class I was attending. That small gesture really stood out.
I’m currently in my second week of 1:1 fundamentals with Coach Mike, so I’m not yet in the regular group classes. Even so, the vibe and culture inside those walls already have me excited for the day I get to work out alongside this community.

I started CrossFit as a complete beginner with no prior training experience, and after completing the Couch to CrossFit program at Heretic CrossFit, I couldn’t be happier with the results. The level-method programming makes it easy to scale workouts to your ability while providing clear benchmarks for tracking progress.
Classes are capped at 12 members, so they’re never overcrowded, and the coaches provide plenty of one-on-one attention. Like all of the best CrossFit gyms, this one is more than just a place to workout. Community and camaraderie are what separate Heretic from chain gym locations. Most people that start a fitness program with a typical gym membership end up quitting because they lack coaching, accountability, and encouragement, all core components of Heretic. All you have to do is show up! 💪
